Coral Launch Ground-Breaking Win a Million Football Jackpot
This Saturday, leading bookmaker Coral will break new ground with the launch of “Football Jackpot”, a unique pool bet that will give customers the chance to become an instant millionaire for just a £1 stake. Football Jackpot will run every weekend throughout the 2013/14 football season and will be supported by a seven figure advertising campaign across broadcast and print.
Coral customers can place their Football Jackpot bets via coupons available in Coral’s 1800 shops, or online at coral.co.uk or via Coral’s mobile app. The mechanics are simple: Each week the Football Jackpot coupon will contain 15 football matches and customers will be asked to predict either a home win, draw or away win for just a £1 stake. The first sole winner of Football Jackpot is guaranteed by Coral to win £1million, and there are also consolation prizes for customers who narrowly miss out. Customers who correctly predict 13 or 14 results will receive a consolation cash payment and depending on the size of the pool and the number of consolation winners even this could run into tens of thousands of pounds. Customers also have the flexibility of either choosing a lucky dip or making their own selections.

The first match on the coupon will be at 3pm Saturday 17th August with the final game being the Monday night Premier League fixture on 19th August between Manchester City and Newcastle United.

The first advert will appear on Saturday 10 ^th August just before 8pm on Sky Sports 1 and the first ITV ad will appear during the Community Shield highlights the following day. Ads have been booked across all of the main channels (ITV1, ITV4, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports, Film 4 and Comedy Central) for eight weeks.
There will also be a partnership with The Sun launching on August 10 ^th and will feature the punditry expertise of Terry Venables for the first seven weeks. The Football Jackpot coupon will also be inserted in The Sun, The Daily Star, The Express, The Mirror and The Daily Record as well as additional activity within a selection of these titles.

We've had this on site for a few days now and it seems to be generating quite a bit of interest. Seems kind of similar to Ladbrokes Millionaire Maker which they've had in store for a few years now, and always seemed to be quite popular. Surprised nobody came up with an online version before, but kudos to Coral for doing so and the early signs are promising.

Hopefully the advertising campaign will continue to drum up some more interest and will be interested to see if it continues throughout the season. Fingers crossed.

With a bit of luck we'll get a couple of weeks of roll-overs to bump the prize pool up even higher. I think the real key to success will be whether it draws in new players who might have only played Lottery products before and if we can encourage more regular punters to play Football Jackpot each weeks as an 'add on' to their usual Saturday morning bets.
