There are many affiliate programs that pay commissions on gambling activities in markets where they are not properly licensed. Sometimes these gambling activities take place in what I would call a gray markets where either no laws are violated or the government of the country in question generally looks the other way and does not care to even try to intervene. And then there are countries where unlicensed gambling activities are what I would call black market. For example, accepting players from within the United States or France without a valid local gaming license.
For today's poll I ask if you work with affiliate programs that operate in black markets. And, if you do work with such programs, do you work on a revenue share or CPA basis, or a mix of the two. If you work with affiliate programs in black markets, there are particular reasons you might decide you prefer working with those programs on a CPA basis. The financial risk to you of a site shutting down in particular markets or all together is substantially less if your relationship is not based on future play. And the financial risk to you should a program shut down is lower as well. As one current example, affiliates that happened to work with BestPay Partners on a CPA basis to mitigate future earnings risk are probably not feeling nearly as upset right now as those that worked with them on a revenue share basis.
