Default Need advice on which brand to promote and which one to avoid

    Hi,
I am new here. I want to start promoting poker. Are there any brands in particular to avoid? Which brand do you recommend for a new affiliate?

Just search 'best online poker sites' and read through the first 10 webpages in the result. They'll all be there for you.

But you will want to be a bit more precise and think about what aspect of poker.

Just targeting 'online poker' is going to be too broad (unless you're very very very clever) because you have 20-30 years worth of competition that you will never be able to beat. Pretty much every site that comes up in at least the first 5 pages of that search result in fact and a lot more on top.

That doesn't necessarily mean don't try, but you probably want to be focusing on one or more aspects to at least have the chance of competing....in which case the question might better be asked....

who do I promote for tournaments
who do I promote for fast poker games
who do I promote for poker in USA

    etc etc etc

And the answers may/will be different for each question (with some crossover of course)

Basic summary - determine your market/target, then work out who will work best to promote

That depends a bit on the countries you're targeting. It makes a difference if that's the UK or North-Korea.

Thanks for the advice. I will search on the poker sites and see which ones they target. I had no idea there are more aspects of poker I can target. I have a long way to go to learn about this. I am intending to target the Canadian market.

OK then go search 'online poker sites in Canada' then 'online poker sites for Canadian players'. Pretty much all ( well at least the top 20, probably many more) will be authoritative pages...and you will get a good idea about the different elements of poker that they cover....+ of course the best poker sites to market to Canadian players

Your target should be to do it better than them (which will be difficult given their age)..and then to identify what you can cover that they haven't (again difficult, but not impossible.

If you can think of an angle now that hasn't been deeply covered then that might be the one to focus on first.

And if you are Canadian, you may have an advantage over many that will have been created by non Canadians...because you might understand better how Canadians think than they do.

You should go to Ahrefs, put your main keyword, select 'Canada' as target market. After check top-10 your competitors and their top-brands at homepage and contact them.

Intertops Poker is also very good to work with and have a decent reputation. Worth giving them a chance.

Thanks for the information. I am new so I can't send pm yet. I tried and I got this message: "To be able to send PMs your post count must be 10 or greater."

Hey, we rank first page for that! (in a few markets at least)

One quirk about Canada, not all sites offer games in all provinces.

    Bullshit.

Intertops pays the least of most offshore poker operators.
Intertops poker management is inflexible, even with long-term affiliates who go the extra mile to support them in public.
Intertops poker does not convert as well as other offshore programs, despite what they will repeat to you over and over again when you complain about something (they convert about half as much as our top program).
Intertops is not truly interested in expanding their poker room operations, if they were, they would change many existing policies that hamper growth, but after a decade, they have not.

On the plus side, they do pay on time and we have zero fear they will ever cut and run with our money, I will give them that.

    2 topic starter,
I would advice you to follow PROFRBcom, he definitely know what he is talking about. By chance, I have read few articles, guides from his sites - and they are really valuable.
