Ronaldo joins PokerStars as brand ambassador

[The Buzz]

PokerStars is building quite a soccer team.

A few weeks after signing Brazilian superstar Neymar, the online poker giant has inked a deal with Portugal's Christiano Ronaldo. Now that's a 1-2 scoring punch.

Is he now simply Ronaldo? I thougth they had already had Ronaldo on their team, they have now Christiano also. Call me old, but I like the original Ronaldo better and I'd rather play with him. Anyway, at least we can see where the affiliate payment money will go from June.

Wow! Looking forward to seeing those ads.

Is it ? Do you REALLY think Neymar or C.Ronaldo are playing poker on POKERSTARS on a daily basis?
I suspect that their lives are far more exciting and far busier than settling down to a daily / weekly session on pokerstars.

These endorsements are all about the money - they are not a personal recommendation - there is nothing accurate in the adverts. I guess it's the current cult of celebrity endorsement and will enable the ad to be seen but it seems a poor ad spend to me.

They should choose Pique. At least he is playing from time to time
