Dates are set for 2021 ICE London, IGB Affiliate London and iGB Live

Clarion Gaming announced today that ICE London 2021 will be held 29-30 June and 1 July at ExCel London. iGB Affiliate London will take place at the same venue on 1-2 July.

iGB Live 2021 will also be moving to 28 September to 1 October in Amsterdam.

From today's press release:

As a consequence of the ongoing impact of Covid-19 and the continuing uncertainty in our markets, the decision to move the world’s leading gaming industry and affiliate events into the summer of 2021 has been necessary and follows close consultation with the international community of stakeholders many of whom requested more time for both the industry and the world economy to stabilise including an easing of regulations covering international business travel.

Kate Chambers, Managing Director, Clarion Gaming, said: “Our initial proposal was to migrate ICE London and iGB Affiliate London from their historical February date to April 2021 due to force majeure. Subsequently, we have taken additional steps to review this in light of the government’s updated measures announced on 22 September 2020 and in the interests of our stakeholders. As a result, we have secured a later date week commencing 28 June.

“This extension provides a number of important advantages compared with April, not least enabling the very best possible space configurations and accessibility at ExCeL London. We believe this is paramount in order to support all of our client’s requirements, whilst underpinning our vision for the 2021 events. As well as the significant logistical benefits, we are also very much aware that it provides additional market recovery time - which we believe will further enhance and support the delivery, outcomes and experiences for all participants.”

Thanks for the update. Hopefully the situation will be more normal again by then. I miss conferences but health is more important.

Seconded, missed my annual trip to Amsterdam this year. Let's hope things improve in time for next year.

SO as far as I can see, we can hope for conferences to happen at least in the beginning of 2022.

I relaly will not like to go to UK, until all is under control.

We need to have patience and wait for better years to come.

While there is no cure or vaccination and the governments still have the power to restrict movements and block travel to countries and require self isolation on return from those it allows, I think attending conferences, will, for the foreseeable future not be possible. If I was an advertiser I wouldn't be happy spending money upfront for something that could be cancelled at a whim, however far in advance the planning is for.

At a guess I'd say we still won't be able to leave the country by then, at least not to go anywhere outside NZ/Pacific Islands, if that bubble even happens.

Until there's a cure for coronavirus, a lot of uncertainty remains and people are living in fear of their well being and will more likely than not be reluctant to attend these events in person.

I guess it won't happen, not even in summer. Too many people will be affected by travel restrictions and stuff. Going to the UK means isolation and coming back means another isolation.
