    Default Remember the Drive Ins?

Where i live there used to be a Drive in Movie theater in every single town when i was growing up, it was great for a family night out because they always had a playground for the kids to enjoy before the movies started and then once the movies started the kids would fall asleep in their pj's with there pillows in the back of the car while the adults enjoyed a peaceful night outside watching the best new movies.....as a teenager it was the best p lace for a date, and if you were there to make out...you parked in the back rows and no one bothered you!....Now, there are only two drive ins left in the entire state and its depressing..i miss the good ole days when i would forget that i had a speaker attached to the window and would drive away ripping it off its stand!! lol.....Anyone else have good memories of a great pastime gone by?

Ive never been to a drive in. We used to have a couple around our area, and one of my first dates took me to one. When we arrived we found it closed down - which was really disappointing, because we had blankies, sandwiches and drinks ready for an awesome night. So instead she took me to a cemetery to spook me out. Memorable.

Same here. Never been to a drive in. I remember about 10 years ago there used to be one out west but don't know if it's still around.
Occasionally they have one at randwick racecourse but it's only a 1 night thing. They played Grease last year so we didn't go.

Do you guys have the moonlight cinemas at the parks? At the botanic gardens during summer, for a couple of weeks, they'll do like a moonlight cinema. Its quite nice as long as you dont get bitten by the mozzies. Take the blankie, sandwiches, and sit on the hill looking to the movie, cool breeze.

Only thing is.. sometimes you get rude pricks who make a tonne of noise just to be yahoos. Ruins the family atmosphere.
