    Default Advise on long-tail KWs

    Hello!

So far I have been mostly working with relatively broad search terms, finding the ones worth targeting and focusing on them. This has worked fairly well for me so far, however I am now shifting more towards working with long-tail KWs.

There are some long-tail ones I've picked up so far and are already working with and a number I have planned, although I think I might still be missing something.

Most educational stuff related to this topic is really general and obvious, which is why I thought someone could perhaps share some useful reading and / or videos.

    Thanks,

I'm guessing you already used up the opportunities in GSC?

Yeah, pretty much. At least as far as I was able to find out what they are.

You can find them manually with the help of Google operators, and if you stumble upon a website that targets mainly long tails -- just simply extract them.

An easy option are also tools like https://keywordshitter.com/, https://www.cleancss.com/keyword-tool/ or others.

Generate a bunch of long tails and then throw them (comma separated) into Ahrefs Keyword Explorer to see the difficulty, volume, etc and who is ranking for them and where.

    Hey Paul,

If you use the Ahrefs webmaster account (it's free) you can add your site as a project. It analyzes everything and lets you know your main keywords you rank for etc. It also shows you many long tail keywords, and from which countries. Maybe that can give your more insight?

Ahrefs also has a free keyword generator tool, in case some people don't know.

Use Ahrefs for KW-analysis and focus on KW's with a lower KD and reasonable organic search volume

For long tails I always use Ahrefs, "People also aks" in Google, Keywordshitter, and simply searching on the competitor's website using CTRL+F all forms of the main keyword + long tails.
