Default To Aff programs.. We promote and get..

Well, we do get the percent you offer, but do you give affs some special gifts sometimes?

At conferences you give out gifts to everyone who stops and say hi, but us oldies do not get a thing.

It wouldn't be much to ask if you send the cheap stuff to us also, just to let us know that you care about our relationship.

Well, that might sound weird but... I mean that New affiliates seems to be more valuable to ALL programs and we who have been here for 5+ years do get zip attention.

    My suggestion is:

ASK US if we want merc from the program.. I mean, a nice bath towel that iaffiliates gave to some do fit nice in my bathroom....

THAT was just an example of things being a "present".

But hey, AM's.. Ask if we also would like the gadget/stuff you offer.

Yeah, I know this post must look like some sort of begging thread but it ain't..

This is just a heads up to AM's to be more active and help us promote and encurage us to do so..

I totally agree with you Hakank
Sometimes that little bath towel or something small simply makes you feel special and it does not necessarily have to be something of major value.

Some Aff programs might argue that they pay us commissions so what more do we expect, but the money gets spent - the gift doesn't and is a permanent reminder of that program, so it could also be considered an advert.

For example on my desk I have a little gadget that Euro Partners sent me once and when I am adding content I often think which casino should I put there, and my eyes tend to land on my gadget and I immediately think of Euro Partners and up they go!

So the bottom line is that sometimes if a casino makes a little bit more effort with an affiliate - in the long run they do get their money and effort back in additional exposure.

But unfortunately it tends to be human nature that one is always trying to get the new customers and forgetting about the existing customers. Sadly this happens in many companies - offline and online

Good thread - I'm a sucker for the merchandise at conference.

You can never get enough pens and USB sticks

I must say that Aspire are really nice, every xmas they send a box of chocolate along with a card with a personal greeting, that are those things who make you feel appreciated.

EP once sent me a nice package containing a shirt (oversized though ) USB stick, deck of cards, mints, pens and a few more thing that I can't remember atm.. But it was really appreciated.

And you programs DO have our mailing address. We clearly state that when we sign up..

So, program managers, think of this, you want to keep the good contact don't you?

As SlotsAffs said, pens and USB sticks are always welcome, we eat pens and save everything on USB

No offence, but in my case keep the damn gifts and just pay me on time and when you promised you would.

Pretty soon I am gonna have to get the box of tshirts (from a conference YEARS ago) out of the garage and eat those since the fridge is pretty close to empty.

hmm can't say any free gift will make me put a program up.The most thoughtful gift i ever got was this past Xmas from Helene at Rewards ,It was handmade ,she took the time to write a nice note and she mailed it herself ,not sent from a third party mailing company.God knows I am not the biggest fan of Rewards but that simple gesture went a long way .

On Christmas and birthdays I always make sure our team send out cards and we have been doing so since I started here.
The biggest problem I find is that most are returned because the addresses on the accounts are actually not correct. I find that a huge percentage of affs prefer not to put their correct address and a gift loses it's touch if you have to ask for an address to send something. For birthdays I've mostly found them through watching here when they pop up and in some cases finding them on the player accounts. I know that's naughty but it means I get to surprise you!

To be honest, we never had merchandise at conferences that we could actually send. Once we had flyers (which were targeted at newbies, no use to long timers), once we had chocolates (which cant be posted from here as they are food items) and the last time we had condoms, which to be fair, you probably don't need or want anyway.

I think if I'm going to send an aff a gift I'd rather it be personal anyway. Sending a pen with the RA logo on it seems kinda cheap to me.

I would mind some merch, not for myself but to give away as prizes.

If anyone has some then message me

The weirdest thing is that when we had the chocolates, people were taking them because they thought they were condoms. When they realised they were chocolates they didn't want them anymore.

So we got condoms. When people realised they were condoms they didn't want them either because they thought they would get in trouble from their partners or because they didn't need them.

Then there were the 14 year old girls in prague who were coming and taking handfulls. That was worrying. I ended up asking them are they planning a sex fest. They didn't come back again after that O_o

But Judy, free gifts are always welcome, aren't they?

I did get a nice Merry X-Mas card fom Aspire, and that made me feel somewhat special, it doesn't have to be anything expensive, but just a simple "thanks".

And Renee, Umm... Been an aff since 2009 with Rewards so.. no you don't..

    @TheBoyMitchell..
    Exactly, send some OFFLINE promos...

    @Universal4
I know what you mean.. I do always get paid in time though.. But I KNOW what you mean.

So to sum this thread as of now, DO send us affs something as nice gesture, not only newsletters...
We do almost always send you guys good traffic and the % you get per affiliate should be enough to compensate a pen or a t-shirt..

Well I hope they do, otherwise I'm going to push my wedding back another 20 years.

Yep I do. We can't send a hand written card to 90,000 affiliates so there has to be some criteria. I leave it up to the individual account managers to decide who they send to.

You'll usually find the best affiliate programs don't have to give out loads of free tack.....They please their affiliates in the ways they should, by paying on time, by being understanding and friendly, and by resolving issues when they arise...

That to me counts for more than receiving a gift.

Maybe that works for you, but I think thats what they should be doing anyway. And most do.

I would be well chuffed if I got some stuff to give away on my slotzs.com facebook and twitter feeds though - even if its something small. Its a simple mechanic for getting traffic. Even if its just some old **** they have lying around the office - baseball hats, usb sticks, towels - anything in an office that isnt being used really.

When I was consulting at one operator they had a whole office full of footballs signed by every football team in the English league (all divisions). Nothing was done with them and eventually people just started nicking them. A few of them to give away would have been brilliant, and can always have been tied in to the brand for a competition.

We have our own brands stuff we give away to our members and I agree there has to be criteria or you will need a million dollars in postage.I spent $1000 in a month mailing stuff to forum members and it is difficult to measure ROI ,IMO it would make sense to send stuff from the casinos if the casino group were sponsoring contests etc.

I appreciate the cards (thanks Renee!) and gifts from different aff programs, but I really like a nice meal or a drink when I'm at a conference. Just nice to hang out with the people we do business with. I try to buy the odd round myself. I do get spoiled a bit though I guess...I've always been the spoiler as opposed to the spoilee before I started doing this.

Dear Aff Managers - Please start planning how you're going to spoil me in Barcelona. Remember, I am the easiest affiliate to bribe that you work with.
