    Question 2022 and social

Hello all. I ran a affiliate poker site back in the 2000s and made a decent go at it but since moved on after my other job took over. But now back and looking to get back into the niche.

I'm very confused however by rules and regs around advertising. Specifically Facebook and Google. I'm in the UK and the site would be a gaming review site. Previously I've done this with a UK gambling license, and without.

In terms of Facebook, they seem to explicitly say that subject to acceptance via a form provided by Meta (which looks simple) that you can advertise. But reading around the topic it looks as if this is not the case? Is there a concrete answer on this? What am I missing?

Same with Google. My understanding from reading the official Google documentation is that PPC in this sector is OK subject to pre-approval via application (as long as its a comparison site and not q straight list of bonuses) - but again this seems to be disputed?

Can anyone help clear this up? Would be so grateful!

    Thanks!

It's very tricky, I do know some people who have run ads and have been pre approved.. but after 1 year some small terms of service change and they lose their account. I currently run PPC traffic, but accounts go down quickly bcz of small error every now and then. Need to stay on top of any rules that change and adjust promptly. You are best to ask them directly how you can promote a review site like that, they may have a link for you to get more information about it that may not come up in a simple search. Can shoot me a DM as well, I could give you some ideas on how to setup properly.

Meta has so many rules that can be interpreted in many different ways. and they can not even explain their decisions (there is such a clause in the rules). You have to try and try.

Last year, I worked with a client who was advertising on Facebook, and I must say that it is complicated.

Yes, it is possible, but you must be prepared for the campaign to be paused numerous times (often without explanation) and to stay on top of each campaign.

Advertising on Google and creating additional content on social networks seems like a better strategy for me.
