After reading a thread today about forum members who have passed on, I went to vist CAP. It looked vacant, how long has it been like this? it's rather sad.

It's been like that for a few years, I think it started a downhill trend several years ago. It's a shame, it used to be a good forum for our industry alongside the GPWA, which is also not what it once was.

Yeah I remember the day when CAP was booming with Warren and Lou.

Then you also had PAL with Jeremy.

Along with the GPWA and AGD the industry seemed to moving along so well. Lots of business deals and some great conversations in posts.


Now it appears the only survivor is the GPWA of almost all affiliate forums.

It is no where near what it used to be in terms of affiliates sharing. Those days are gone.

In my opinion CAP was never the same after the split with Lou and Warren, was a real shame and sadly Lou did not last long after that.

I met someone that worked at CAP 2 years ago in Mexico. Young guy in his 20s I would guess.
He talked about revitalizing the site, and I specifically mentioned the forums to him, but nothing ever came of it.
I get the feeling they are still rather large affiliates however, given where I met them, at an invite only affiliate function.

CAP was a disgrace to our industry and I'm glad it's dead. Faked posts (by admins) pretending to be other (real) members, promoting spam, stealing money....

I too met with someone from there a few years back and was asked to help revitalise the forum, with a hint of reward if I did. No chance.

I've registered at CAP around 2010 so I missed Cardspike drama I guess..

Beside CAP there was also PAL (Poker Affiliate Listings)- both are ghost towns nowadays.

This would have been one of the funniest fights to ever happen. David and Goliath - Part 2!

I also remember the GPWA magazines that "went missing" on the opening day of the conference, and hotel security getting called in to kick out two conference attendee and esteemed GPWA stalwarts. Only to find they were staying in that hotel and they weren't able to remove them!

Spot on, mate. It's the only conference I really wish I hadn't missed, but following the drama from afar was almost as entertaining.

I remember that...
Professor wanted to go fist-y cuffs with CityGuard (aka Steve Corfman, yes Michael's son). At the time stories about the drama over there were here, on CAP, and other places too. If you remove the emotions and ego, it really all comes back to 'greed', wanting to be top-dog, or both.
