Illinois Passes Sports Betting Law

ICYMI - Illinois passes a bill legalizing sports betting, once the governor signs this bill Illinois will be poised to become the biggest regulated market in the United States (thus far).

its not a great bill - DraftKings and FanDuel along with any other “only only” operator will have to wait 18 months while land based casinos and their online partners get a head start - and use of official league data is also required.

However, this is Illinois we are talking about and I am honestly surprised they passed a bill at all - I think a lot of people were!

Curious - does this help persuade any of you to stop promoting offshore? So far, I see no mention of licensing affiliates. It’s possible one would need an occupational license - but that’s just a guess.
