LeBron James' Decision

It is so funny!! LeBron James is having a 1 hour special on ESPN to announce where he is signing to play next season...and he is selling the ads for the show!!

So, where do you think he is going? Do you care? Will he go to Miami with Dwayne and Chris Bosh? Or Chicago to play in Michael's shadow? With LeBron there, Chicago will have Derek Rose, Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah, and Luol Deng, a formidable lineup..and a winner in my view for years to come.

If he goes to Miami, the burden won't be on him to take the last shot...Dwayne wil do that, but they will be thin at the post position anyway. Even last year, Jermaine Oneal looked like he didn't have anything left.

If the idea is to win a championship, those are his best choices.

I do care about where he decides to play, since I am a fervent basketball fan, but I won't be watching the show...surely somehow I'll find out where he decides to go...lmao

This has turned into a media circus of epic proportions. Yes, he is donating all advertising sales of tonight's show to charity, BUT he is doing this all out of self-interest and promotion. As a basketball fan, I hope he goes to the NY Knicks (my team), but my guess, at this point, is that he is leaving breadcrumbs in different cities at this point, to start rumors, and keep everyone guessing.

I say that there is a 75 % chance he will remain in Cleveland; 15 % chance he will go to Miami, and 10 % chance that he goes to the Knicks. 0 % chance that he goes to New Jersey or Chicago.
His staying at Cleveland will allow him to remain the focal point of the franchise, and will help portray him as a loyal employee.

As much as I'm against all this hoopla, it has created great press for the NBA, and I will be watching at 9 PM EST tonight, so I guess mission accomplished.

I think he is going to alienate a whole lot of NBA fans and this entire "its all about me" drama might just back fire on him - we can only hope ...

1) Miami
2) Chicago
3 ) New York

Then again since its "all about me" (LJ) he might just end the show saying I am staying where I am - if he does that I wouldnt expect it to be more than a 3 year deal; then he can do the same thing in a few more years.

To me, it looks like LeBron hasn't thought things through very carefully. He was on top of the World, and now his youth is showing through big-time.....

IMV, Cleveland had 7 years to put together a winner! Blame the owner and his mgmt that they didn't provide players for him to win. Michael had his group together in 7 years.

Maybe he didn't do everything in a properly respectful fashion, but I don't blame LeBron for choosing to move to Miami. For sure, I'm buying a ticket to see them when they come to Memphis to play!! Or Atlanta, or New Orleans, they are all easily accessible for me, and worth the trip. No doubt they will sell out everywhere they go.

The Cleveland fans are hurt, but should realize they haven't done enough player-wise to keep him. The owner would have gladly accepted LeBron as he is, but since he's gone, he has all these bad things to say. Who will come play for a guy like that??

Besides that, how many players have they sent packing without any remorse, but now the shoe is on the other foot they come crying about how they were done wrong. Get over it!!

Leaving Cleveland was the right choice, as amateur pointed out. They clearly didnt have the right mindset to surround him with the right players.

BUT - I dont think Lebron did himself any favors. He should have gone to either Chicago or NY - whichever was going to surround him with the right cast. He would have been bigger than life... and would have had a great chance to win himself a ring or two. In Miami I think the championship is just about a done deal (within a 1-3 years) but James will only get part credit. And the cost - his stats will go down as he'll need to share the ball more. I dont see him eclipsing Michael as the greatest ever with that dream team in Miami.

Oh - and the media circus... A waste of everyones time.
