Default Spent ten minutes laughing at ...

My nearly 80 tear old dad.

he came for dinner this evening and told me of an event in his week ...

His house sits on a quite steep hill, 30 steps up to the porch and the driveway to the garage is very very steep, like run up in the car needed.

Well anyway, he went to Asda(Walmart) and purchased a new quilt for his bed, you know the sort, come wrapped in a cylindrical shaped bag.

Well, as he unloaded it from the car he dropped it, it rolled down the drive, accross the street hitting the neighbours wall opposite. It then took another direction and rolled down the street at quite some speed with my old fella chasing it!

A car was proceeding down the street, so he stopped and held his hand up like a cop to stop the car, then continued running down the street to chase it, eventually catching up with it on a bend in the road some 300 yards further on.

I can imagine the scenes and am quite amazed that he managed to run so far in his condition at his age.

Gawd knows what the neighbours thought, or how the driver never crashed due to his laughter.

just thought i would share what sounds like a sketch from any decent comedy.

After all that he has decided that he does not like quilts and is reverting to his eider down and blanket.

    LOL

Sounds like your dad and my mum would get along like a house on fire.. My mother is a very strange lady. We call her Batman because she is obsessed with junkies..

Funny story... I can also just imagine it (with an older version of yourself running down the road).

Maybe you should post a pic of your dad so we know what he looks like.
