This is the first thing i saw this morning....an 8.8 earth quake hit Chili overnight!...that is huge.

The destruction and loss of live is going to be horrible, and yes a pacific ocean area wide warning is up for a wave.....fingers crossed there is enough warning, and better yet it just does not happen.

Also Japan got hit with an earthquake just a few hours ago also....5.9...?

The world definitely has something going on that has never been seen before...at least not in my time...I can't remember having so many different natural disasters happening in so many different forms that we have been seeing in the past few years.

    scary.

This is absolutely horrible, and we can only hope that the devastation was minimal.

It's porbably true that things are more active in the last five years than in the last twenty years ... but no more than that.

The difference now is that any disaster, anywhere, is brought into our living rooms in technicolour with in depth and detailed reports ... rather than a generation ago when it was simply a couple of paragraphs in your fathers newspaper.

Totday's is 8.8 which puts it 5th, behind one in the 1950s, two in the 1960s and one in 2004

NZ getting hit first due to direction of wave from quake.

There were expecting about a metre high here (3.3 feet) and there has been a noticable drop in the seas-level which is a pre-cursor to big waves.

Apparently it will be a series of smaller waves covering a 6-12 hour period after the initial wave. Waves here have not really been noticable so far - and it's now 90 minutes after the first one was due.

Waves have been between 20cm (8 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) ... so it appears to be less impact than expected.

That is great news to hear that the initial impact of the wave was much lower than expected.

I am fairly sure that in the next few days as more reports get released from Chilie though that we will sadly see mmany bad reports.

    Has anyone heard of "HAARP"?

Now i am not saying that all the reports and research i have read about this government run group in Alaska is 100% true, but if you know anything about thier "weather" machine...and what it can do....it is very interesting when i hear that the quakes in china, haiti and now chili all had a light display in the sky either before or during the actual earthquakes....

and the reason why these earth quakes are hitting poor, over populated areas in the world....[if HAARP is the reason] is because of there sick and disturbing take on population control.

Just curious to see if anyone else has any thoughts on this group....i just found out about them about 3 months ago and its really strange and hard to believe but with our government, and the rich bastards behind our government who have nothing better to do with thier money but think up sick ****.....anything is possible.

Don't believe the hype - that's conspiracy nonsense

Here is a more balanced view of HAARP.
