Newb question for all

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post. I have been looking into starting a gambling portal of my own for a while, and I finally found GPWA (great info btw ). After reading a lot of the posts I have a few questions.

1. With the current legal climate in mind and problems w/ cc and online casinos, is it wise for new webmasters to enter this business?
2. Is the market too saturated for new webmasters to get a foothold and make a decent profit?
3. Does long hours and hard work conquer all?

Welcome to GPWA. Now about those questions:

1. With the current legal climate in mind and problems w/ cc and online casinos, is it wise for new webmasters to enter this business?

Thats a tough question and the answer lies within you. There are always barriers to entering business. While the climate now may seem hostile, in six months that could change for better or worse. None of us has a crystal ball. I can tell you this much, when I entered the business full time people advised me against it and raised many of the same issues we hear now regarding legality, morality and business climate. That was in 1999. I have made a very very handsome living since then. There are no guarantees in life, but one. If you never try you'll never know what you could have done.

2. Is the market too saturated for new webmasters to get a foothold and make a decent profit?

The market is heavily contested and if your game doesnt develop you won't stand a snowballs chance in hell. That's true of every competitive field. If you grow and learn with a little luck you can earn a good living. Again no guarantees, but thats no reason to stay out of the race.


3. Does long hours and hard work conquer all?

No. It doesnt. But if you want to have half a chance of success it will take both. See 1 and 2 above. It's all up to you.

Just wanted to add to this:

This is so true, when i first tried making money online i was worse than most, initially i tried what most webmasters did back then and i joined All Advantage. It wasn't until i saw a banner for a now gone broke casino titled First Live Casino that a light clicked in my head. Hey they must be making money was my first impression. I checked it out and I was quite surprised that they would pay people to send them traffic.

I also got discouraged when i got my first check for $8. I had worked a whole month for that much money. My father urged me to get over my obcession with making money online to work the oil fields. (i was steam cleaning carpets back then fresh out of school) i resisted the oil field (never was a big temptation) and i just ignored the ridicule. It's amazing how many people are out there ready to discourage you. Now most of those people are jealous and have to remind me that they have real jobs and not everyone can make money doing nothing. So in other words they're jealous. I make more in a day or two than they do in a month. I can also take vacations when i want for how long i want and not worry about maxing out the credit cards.

So should you enter this market? Why not, the worse that will happen is that you'll learn how to do online marketing and if casinos go nowhere you can apply that knowledge to another field.

I say go for it, or wait a month and see if gambling is banned and then go for it.

i joined All Advantage

Hey! I remember All Advantage, I used to run a portal Paid-to-surf.net and had recruited several thousand people into that program along with about six or seven other programs that featured the same revenue model. Despite reports showing I earned thousands of dollars I think I only received a few checks that totaled less $200!

Paid to surf programs were my first introduction to "Shaving"!

I only recruited around 200 people for all advantage, i eventually gave my account to someone since the bar was driving me nuts. Remember all those programs... utopiad... spedia...

Paying punks with no money to surf the net.. what were they thinking!
