    Default Mobile Affiliate Content

Just a question that I'm throwing open to any affiliates who are promoting/thinking of promoting mobile....

I think a lot of the established gaming brands are overlooking Mobile via affiliates and are happy for their player base to 'spill over' into mobile rather than getting Affiliates to help them promote it directly. There seem t be a whole bunch of 'smaller' players who are far more adept at promoting their mobile gaming platforms when compared to the industry giants.

I'd like Coral Connect to move up a gear with our mobile product and what we offer Affiliates to help them promote it.

It would be great to hear from experienced mobile affiliates as well as those who have never touched mobile about the following...

    • what tools/creatives/assistance they need to promote a mobile brand; particularly what you consider to be the 'deal breakers' that you need before you'll even start.

If you are an affiliate who is not promoting mobile it would be useful to know why. For example, is it a matter of having no time available?

    • If you could have anything that would help convince you to get started promoting mobile what would that be?

Finally, whether its about brands in general or if you want to comment specifically on Coral Connect...

    • What do you think are the biggest things that we/others are not doing that is getting in the way of promoting mobile?

We have a few websites dedicated to mobile and having a good selection of properly sized creatives is crucial to running a successful campaign. Also having more than one landing page is helpful as well

Proper landing pages and supporting creatives for specific mobile games is a must.

I don't really push mobile at all, although it's mainly a time thing - it's on the list, it just keeps getting pushed further down by other things.

When I finally get around to it I'll probably start with some ppc campaigns targeted to mobile devices.

In terms of support I think screenshots of the app and mobile site would be helpful, plus tracking links that auto-detect the device that's being used so you can just use the same links and have the system send them to the right place.

Maybe a couple more hours in the day too, if you can wangle it!

Great to read this thread Anthony, we've just rolled out the mobile version of low risk. At the moment we have a logo, pointers to join and a claim buttons. As far as creatives go for mobile? Do they exist? Surely with different screen sizes, software etc this would be difficult to achieve? There are pretty comprehensive detection scripts out there, that said.

For us, a dedicated, mobile optimised landing page for mobile users, maybe with the offer amount and cta to a registration page is the best solution.

Maybe have a mobile specific offer?

Also load speed is a real factor for mobile, particularly if you're sat in the pub and the signal is poor...

Thanks for all the feedback, really appreciate it...

In terms of Creative for Mobile; do you have pre-set sizes in mind - what would you consider to be the most appropriate sizes for mobile creative?

The ideal scenario would be something that changes depending on the screen size, resolution and pixel density.

Look here for a few possible technqiues http://www.vanseodesign.com/web-desi...onsive-images/

Even if it meant having to run some javascript to get it working I think affiliates would respond well to it.

I just wanted to bump this one up and see if any affiliates could provide their input on mobile sizes that you run on your sites? I'm looking to expand the creative sizes that we offer across all our products. The responsive image is obviously the ideal (thanks for posting that AceOdds) but would like to offer some short term solutions for until we are able to get there.

Anything that uses the standard IAB ad sizes is great http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_banner
Also in the near future when devices with varying pixel density become more standard I'd also publish creatives that fit into the same spaces but at 'retina' densities i.e. publish both a 300x250 and 600x500 both showing the same image but with the knowledge the later will only be used 'retina' devices. Webmasters will be easily able to update their css to load the appropriate image for the device.

    Muffin's mobile casino predictions
Of course.. everything should be cross platform, and integration between mobile and regular computers should be seamless, without the user knowing. In fact, I predict that the term "mobile" is already beginning to show signs of aging, when all computing will be "mobile" within just a couple of years. It is a term born to die, as it is only based on the lack of better internet delivery, and when it comes poof... I give this niche only a few good years, and that's money in the bank from your friend muffin.

Another idea would be to provide vector graphics where possible in svg, adobe illustrator or pdf formats and leave the affiliate to decide resolution.
