Maybe more information, I can help... size of the room, outside temp, expected temp inside? LG Inverter are widely used in the company I work and works just fine. Inverter for saving energy mostly. Refrigerant must be R-410A or something similar, nothing like R-22...

And why mobile? To move it around the house?

10,000 BTU should be ok for your needs, something like this:

    http://www.lg.com/us/air-conditioner...ir-conditioner

Be ready to pay some more for bill electricity for having a mobile unit (like 20%-25% more I think compared to a traditional wall unit or even 50% compared to minisplit unit with inverter)

    I like the Haier brand.

It does need to be vented in a window, but even here in super humid Florida conditions, it is extremely rare to need to empty the water from the reservoir.

No matter what brand you go with, be sure to look for the ones that do a decent job of self-evaporating. Looking them up on Walmart, Amazon and other sites that have a lot of comments usually help with this.

In the end I would be interested what you end up with, and how you like it etc after you have one a bit.

I actually like mine enough that I most likely will get another one, running mine 24/7 all summer (along with a few high volume well place fans to move the cool air in to appropriate rooms of the house), has saved me a complete fortune in electric bills.
