Posting your back links to various sites helps build a solid foundation for Google to start ranking your various pages. Please be advised that this process can take as long as 6 months to two years. (Been there, done that, have the T-Shirt) and ignore anyone who tells you different.

After you get your site up and running, personal contact is the best way to attract new customers immediately. Just look when you Google "Online Casinos" and you will see 3 to 4 BILLION returns. That is your competition so tell everyone you know and all you meet that you are in the online casino business and get some new customers fast, then let the internet take hold over time. Don't fall for anyone telling you this is easy as the "Hay Days" of online casino sites are well in the past for quick and easy profits.
The big guys are paying Google mega bucks for Google Ads so you have to compete with as well.
Don't forget to remove the anchor tags from your affiliate banners that drive traffic to their casino home site and not yours. You want anchor tags that drive traffic to YOUR web site and not XYZ Casino. When they get a new customer from your efforts, they make more money as they don't have to pay the commission since the customer signed up direct. I could go on for days and volumes but after two full years of this business I have learned a lot that most won't tell you.
If you really want to make some serious money, try a Pay Par Head Sports Book. Look through the various ones online and pick the one that you feel comfortable with. (I'm not a sub agent looking for customers, I'm just passing on my personal experiences.)

But probably via ...

1) the unsolicited links and bookmarks that occured naturally,
2) through your brand reputation,
3) through word of mouth
4) through other smaller search engines that have been less gamed

All because the content is that good.

Depending on your niche, I have had much success with social media. Twitter, I cannot get it to work for me, but Facebook pages seems to be easy.

The goal is to post a new article on your facebook every day, and to make sure its an article which is interesting, even controversial, so it will be go viral. Viral is when the people who have liked your page, their friends also read and view that article

SMO seems to be the new thing. I am not having great success with it though.

Social Media is not that great for Gambling I think. People aren't very social when it's about casinos, sports bet and poker. Some of them prefer that this is hidden from their friends on facebook.

With out content you can make good traffic.
To create good content takes more time than create a site.
Good Meta keywords + Meta tags is the best way.
