Question Does a casino really pay a Listing Fee on affiliate website?

I’m running winningspinslots.com, and whenever I approach a new partner and ask for a $100–$300 listing fee, they usually refuse directly and offer alternatives such as increasing the CPA, providing testimonials, or other forms of collaboration.

I’d like to understand in what situations casino operators or affiliate programs are actually willing to pay a listing fee, and what factors typically influence their decision.

I'm not a listing fee expert, but my common sense is telling me 100/300. is too low to sound serious... its sounds more like "he is looking for some low extra bucks ... "

But it depends on your pitch. How do you justify the extra fee to them?

agree. that just sounds like trying to get some cash.
i think that in most cases, the listing fee works when the program is the ones that asks you about it.

We have one that we charge 55 euros listing fee mainly because we want all brands listed but know not all will convert. It ranks well for brand SEO stuff and we do have traffic but these guys come to us.

Judy, you are here for a year or two , so programs see 55 euro retainer as small entrance fee. very different from someone who asks to pay listing fee for a new site.

in general, i would assume that you will get your $300 fee from one out of 20 programs you will reach, it will costs you huge amount of time, talking, discussing agreeing and so on. its much easier to just focus on making good site, as 1 ftd per month is enough to cover that fee.

I've not heard of reaching out to casino partner sites to request a listing fee, that sounds a little cheeky, but I know it does work the other way. It's usually a pay to play thing, and is more for the vanity of the partner site (unless you have a high converting list). I've run it a few times, the most I ever had was about $600 pm for for prime placement for over a year (That was money for jam, lol).

I don't really do them anymore as I'd rather promote a core set of sites that I know convert and bring in good rev, they are usually happy to increase my rev share (in most cases) and I give them a guarenteed higher placement. I don't charge them but we usually agree on a rev increase in some cases.

Brands are always, and I mean always, begging for higher placements, they'll pull all sorts of nonsense to get a better placement, but I find they won't pay decent money. I usually counter them by saying that they will need to match the income I make off the brand they will be replacing, which usually puts an end to it.

I do ask newer brands for a listing fee because they all want to be featured, but they don't end up paying which is fine by me as they have to prove themselves as good earners before I list them anyway.

A fee to just be listed?

Only the big boys can get away with that.

Now if you bring in some traffic they will offer you a placement fee for top positions.

We've done plenty of listing fees over the years but only when programs approach us, we would never approach a program cold and ask for a listing fee.

In the past we would add new brands at set times for efficiency, usually every quarter, and those that paid the listing fees were usually the ones that couldn't wait and wanted to be listed straight away. We would offer different types of fees depending on what they wanted. If a site wanted to be listed on our whole network with reviews, etc., we would charge them but that was mostly to cover our own ass if they suddenly closed or converted so badly we never got the money back that it cost to list them. We even used to offer a refund on the listing fee to some programs once we were paid out the equivalent amount in commissions.

Listing fees were a good way of shutting up poorly funded white labels that pester you daily to be listed.

It is not something we really do anymore, as with others here I'd rather just push the brands that I know convert well and are less likely to screw us in the short to medium term.

thats an interesting idea. though i assume that most just vanish when you ask (not a bad thing) while those that persist, message you endlessly after paying the fee?

If you only charge $300 then it's not worth lisitng, and usually it's somethign that comes up when you have los of valuable traffic and a brand wants you to replace other brands which already convert and earn you revenue.

You'll find that when you mention a fee that they will almost never pay a fee, they might still pester you but you always fall back on a listing fee. I've only once had a brand come back a year later saying that would take the paid placement they previously rejected, and I responded with a higher fee, they didn't accept and their business folded a few months later (which was predictable, and one of the reasons I didn't want to list them at all in the first place).

That there, is the Problem! To them, you come off as a grifter. People or companies will only pay for value you bring them. If you get your organic traffic sorted out, I’m pretty sure demands like this will be a walk in the park. Heck! You could even raise the amount you requested
