Default Any Experience with Gambling Books Affiliate Programs?

    Hi Everyone,

I tried to look for a similar thread since I am new to the forum and I don't really now what has been posted previously, but I didn't find one, so I decided to create it.

Has anyone had an experience with Affiliate programs about selling gambling related books. If there are positive ones, could you suggest good programs?

I stumbled upon a site where gambling books are advertised, which I noticed has an affiliate program, but I was unable to find any reviews on it whether they are paying etc, so I thought maybe some of you would like to say anything.

An what about advertising gambling books from Amazon? Is it possible?

    Any comment will be appreciated.

I have made an occasional sale using amazon but I admit I have not put much effort into updating the books or pages where they are linked in a long time.

The biggest plus I found using amazon, you have one link and just change the isbn number in the link and it drops the visitor into the cart for that book with that link.

The cart also attempts cross selling automatically.

The commission is just way to low, selling a book for $20 and making 5% is peanuts compared to what the same visitor could be worth on a casino.

I added a gambling books section many years ago. It just wasn't worth my while. I had very few sales and the commissions couldn't buy me a Big Mac

Have to agree with sweetbet that it is often a lot of work for very little reward...I have made enough to go through the drive through once in a while.....and I usually have to make my picks from the value menu....lol

It is one of the reasons that I have not updated them in a very long time.

I think this is a perfect example of why in our industry we should be so grateful for the high and residual commissions.

I have a cosmetics website. I have the payout set to something like $1000. I figured that once I hit it, I will get a nice cheque as a surprise in the post. I don't even check my stats.

I logged in recently to see that any earnings I had accumulated had been pretty much taken away.

Why? Because in the terms they say that after X period of time you forfeit any commission made because of accounting fees or some **** like that.

In any other industry you don't make residual income. You get 5-10% of the sale and possible 2-3% of a second sale within 30 days, then you get nothing from what that person buys in the future.

    We are actually very lucky.

I Agree with you Renee thanks for putting that out there I have noticed too that gaming is way more aggressive than most industries as far as revenue share goes . I also think we rely more heavily on affiliate and affiliate traffic than other industries maybe outside of Porn possibly ?

I agree that gaming is way more aggressive in so many ways.

I know many think that spam is so bad in our industry....nut in reality spam for kohls, walmart, costgo, ANY retailler, drugs, insurance, cosmetics, boots, purses, sunglasses, weight loss, credit reduction, automobiles, travel and FLASHLIGHTS is much much worse then gambling. (although lottery has seen quite an upswing lately)

Our margins are better and affiliate management overall understands that ethics and an aggressive stand against spam is better for the industry.

Thank you for the insight guys. I though there was something fishy about why I haven't seen gambling affiliates promote books, but now I understand.
But, even though the commission is not worthwhile our effort, what about the visual effect with the visitors? Don't you think they might see it as an interesting feature of the website he is visiting and think of it "a bit highly and more relevant"? )))

I am aware that gamblers wouldn't bother buying books about gambling since there are lots of resources on the Internet, and providing them quality content is enough to leave a good impression in them, but even so...

You just need them to click the add for the cookie to be placed. You never know, while browsing they may see something else they like and buy it. I'm guilty of that. Always buying something I wasn't intending because I look around

You always need to be thinking out of the box as an affiliate to try distinguish yourself from the crowd so if you have a section for Books keep it .. why not you can add book reviews etc and just use it as a Content Base for your main business of getting players into casino and who knows maybe you will get lucky one day and get a person to buy and continue to buy no harm in trying
