Default MGS: 10 yrs for me, but say 5: who'd you want as a sponsor?

I felt this deserved as much attention as possible so rather than post at GAP ... I'm posting here.

If you've got 5 or more years in the industry promoting MGS powered casinos ... you should be able to to chime in and be of great help.

What I'm wanting to figure is who to bet on in the coming 5 or 10 years.

This will be more true of those who were heavily into the states because NOW we find out who is going to take care of us when the chips are down ... retirement ... etc whatever.

point being that many of us have lost ability to keep the numbers we once had (traffic-wise), so which programs are proving to come thru for us when our times are bad?

In light of that ... the programs that have proven to me to be the best choices for the long run are

Rewards Affs: always been a fan ... becoming more impressed now times are hard.

    --------------------------------------------

Vegas Affs: a surprise here but bottom line doesn't lie. although not always my 2nd best income by any means ... considering the limited exposure they got ... that I mistakenly gave other programs ... this group has had exceptional retention and as mentioned when I compare to exposure other programs had ... they hands up have the edge.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Brightshare: were very good when times were good. However I'm becoming very disillusioned with them since MGS pulled out and I couldn't send as much traffic (not that I was ever a huge force ... but what traffic I send is very good) ... but that hasn't made much difference now that I have the ability to look back. - I'm going to take time to explain this because it deserves it.

I gamble the places I promote. For some reason I was luckier at allslots than other places. I take pictures of jackpot wins and use them as a promotional tool. I have probably 10x more pics of wins at allslots than other places so it made it easy to promote them heavily (as long as they made close to expectations of course). which they did until the loss of the states. Then they have went to sh#t.

To compare ... RA and BS had same exposure ... I now ... after 10 years! of promoting BS with all out vigor ... I have had 4 - 6 months of disappointment which has steadily went down to the point now that I'm offended with my bottom line.

    --------------------------------------------------------

Programs which fall into order after the above

Referback: don't know really where to put them or how to explain. The year I didn't promote them I made more from them .... than all the years I did promote them. I know for certain I am no the only person to experience this .... and would have said something but only recently discovered it during a discussion at GAP. (sidenote: when they stopped making money was when I put them back in promotion. Needless to say I wish I hadn't.

Golden star / Vegas Partners ... whatever they call themselves now ........ best I can say about them is to expect a good start followed by a drop-off ending in null.

Fortune Lounge - ... some swear by them. I'd be dead by now if I had to count on them to feed me.

I have not made mention of programs which left the states early on but would like to give kudos to wagershare for having proven a class act about paying money that was of question whether it was owed (we neither could prove either way so they paid me .. that's class in my book)

I'm sure others will have to add ... and some will conflict with my expereince. In any case I think this thread will help guide all of us in our decisions on how to approach the future.

    --------------------

    ps.

if you think i shot myself in the foot for being so upfront .... then consider since I already know this ... that i did it to help others. Help me back by visiting GAP once in a while. ... thanks.
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

Rewards has my full confidence and trust. The others mentioned I hold with some degree of suspicion. But I think we all have our doubts regarding any program, it is only natural.

The only MGS programs that i have had any luck with are

    G3/Casinoshare
    and its white casinos

    Brightshare, [not much, but consistant]
32 Red [ not lately, but when i was, it was great]

All other MGS, absolutely nothing! Its sad to say, but back in the good days for me Grand Prive, etc...referspot was my biggest money maker, since them, not much with Microgaming at all.

ANd as far as CR goes, everyone swears by them, but i have signed up twice now in the past 6 years, and i have picked up nothing, crap, zero. So maybe you all have all the damn players??? Renee has offered to help me get some players, so when i finally start this, maybe something good will come out of it.

Pat, this might be because at Referback 1 player = 1 affiliate.
So if someone signed up to casino A several years ago by another affiliate and he finds your site today with a super converting review about casino B and he signs up, the another affiliate will get the credit instead of you, the player will be tagged to that affiliate not you. To summarize: you are working for old affiliates.
The chances a player has account at one of the Referback properties is high as they are in the industry for a long time now.

Of course if you are the "another affiliate" then you will make big bucks with them :P

well this is really an important matter that because of circumstances of MGS keeping existing players ... we have op to find out who we should be betting our future on because after 10 years of promoting a place a person ought to have some sort of decent income to count on ... for I'd guess at least a few years to come.

We're only asking they retain even a handful of worthy players out of all that time.

and I'm not seeing it from places that by all logic should be right out in front for me.

and don't think I won't try to save others from making same mistake.

what's really troubling me about brightshare is I wrote them asking hey ... look what's happening? can't you send out some incentives ... something. all I got was a response they'd have Lloyd look into it and that was some time back.

I deserve better than what I have seen since the stopping of new registers.

I know times are hard but I bet I could get some of those players back given the chance.

a good way to start is to contact the players and ask them why they left? and then try to fix it. You can't go after new so instead of taking the easy way out and just counting on your affs to bring in new blood from other countries how about realizing that 70% of the entire group of gamers are from the states and that means there's probably just as likely to get back old proven quality players with a little effort than it is to hope we affs can make it work with the 30% that's left to be targeted.

I and you other vets know there's a ton of quality players out there who aren't playing because they were mis-treated by snobby or incompetent support agents who have went unchecked for the most part ... and its time to backpeddle and see what we can salavage.

I'm willing to help. give me the chance.

there's an old and true saying that a customer in hand is in the long run a much better investment (to coddle) than efforts spent on bringing in new ones. I don't think that's being observed to the amount of intensity that it deserves.

I have to say, there is some hard core retention happening in our office right now. I think a lot of affiliates will be starting to see some really old players either start to play just now, or continue to play now after years of not playing. This is something that the WHOLE company is investing a lot of time and money into right now, so I'm sure about 99% of affiliates will see some good results from it.

Absolutely. I would be willing to bet that if every affiliate posted their best and worst MGS performers, the lists would vary quite a lot.

I'd like to take this chance to say that we tag players to the last referring affiliate. This means all affiliates have an equal chance of sending us a player who registered years ago through another affiliate to any of our other properties.

Serious Renee. You guys have been so top notch about not only being competent about getting back many who were otherwise lost (if they'd been signed somewhere else) but also about being smart enough to realize what a huge resource that exists at fingers' reach if only given a little effort and thankfully for us affs ... also a pretty good marketer at closing the deal.

People that might have doubts about CR / RA let me explain what I hope may help you understand ... at least how I see the strategy.

Yes they don't have the best conversion rate but what is sometimes not appreciated is the fact they do not at all go out of the way to attract the bonus chasers / advantage players ... That's a pretty good size of the % of players that exist. Therefore a place which has (and I feel wisely) chosen to avoid inviting the bonus chasers ... is naturally going to have a conversion rate that isn't as attractive as some other places.

for me ... bottom line my friends. the rest is just ammunition to know how to approach your traffic better but as far as who has the most downloads ... sign ups ... or people with one foot in the toliet and a slot handle in the other ...

doesn't matter crap. I need money. I imagine you do too. so bottom line will always be king.

RA does well there because they treat their approach to this business like a professional entity to which these days are seldom needing to worry bout competition. They have stayed fresh, strong and obviously capable of making a good majority of their affs happy.

Tough to do considering the times. Kudos!

    and PS.

You're hot Renee even if RA was to ever lose its wonderful edge. and the email to send my dirty pictures is .... sigh... once again .... because you seemingly keep losing it .... is ..... we interrupt this post to bring you important information. Please stay tuned.

How does she do that? once again saved and in a means where it doesn't look like she's avoiding me .... The girl is good.

That makes me very happy to hear

I'm glad there is some feedback about this and that it seems to be working

Even I have been doing some of this retention outside my regular working hours.. so when I say the whole company is getting involved, I wasn't kidding

Did not know about this rule made in 2004 but after Cobus reviewed my account I have 98% uniques so only a small part will go the the old affiliates.

When you reverse the rule is great to get - once referred - an exclusive player for the whole group.

Oh good. A chance to talk micro lol. Ok here is my experience.

Fortune: - Consistant group but never much of a money maker. Bad bad affiliate program if you dont have high Speed internet.

Rewards: Sorry Renee but I have never had any luck with you guys in 7 years. I like playing there.

Brightshare: Great program but they do have an issue keeping players.

G3: - By far my favorite and my bread and butter.

32Red: - Great casino horrible ( and I mean horrible ) conversion of visitors to deposits.

Referback : Has good months but since USA departure ...blah but helpful group and I have worked with shane. Hes awsome but just couldnt help get deposits on the table.

    Thanks

    Hehe no problem.

I think your post shows exactly how one group does wonders for some people, and not so well for others.

    Cheers

I say CasinoShare and Rewards Affiliate will do best. I've been reading a lot of good business deals with them so they sure deserve it.
