Have You Gone Up or Down In This Google Update?

Since last Friday SERP movement has been massive, especially in the Uk and Germany.

I've noticed bookmaker reviews and generic 'free bets' terms to have seen some big shake ups. Can't put my finger on what exactly has caused it. Anything I find that seems logical, is then contradicted by something else.

How've you done?

In GWT it does shows as some kind of update, but apparently it is NOT a Penguin update

Some of my sites have moved up a few positions for some search terms.

Put your site into SEMRush or Ahrefs. You might notice that you've gained rankings for lots of additional keywords and now rank on page 2 for some big terms. It won't affect traffic, but in the future you're sitting in a healthy position ready to hit page 1.

I see no changes, everything still goes up slowly

Google is rolling something out, but it can be just an core update, and serp jumps cuz they need to tweak it after release, so everyone just need to wait

I have seen a nice boost on many of my sites, especially for long tail keywords. Some thin EMD's that hasn't been in top 100 suddenly ranks top 20-40 as well.

I too have noticed some EMDs in the bet365 SERPs that have appeared from nowhere!

Lots of EMDs suggests to me that they're still testing the new change by flicking certain filters on/off like EMD, probably going to be pretty volatile until it settles down if it's a big change coming.

Yes, after this update I lost my rank from 9 to 28. I have disavowed some bad backlinks.
