Default From casino streaming to running an affiliate site - anyone else made that jump?

Came from the casino streaming side of things before starting my site. Different world in a lot of ways - way more focused on SEO and content than on entertainment/community building.

Anyone else here made a similar transition from streaming/content creation into the affiliate/portal side? Curious what surprised you most about the shift.

Many have, and many more have been around since before streaming existed.

The biggest surprise for me was how different the feedback loop is. With streaming, you know almost instantly what people enjoy; with affiliate sites, results can take months and depend much more on rankings, search intent, conversion paths, and constant content updates.

I took the opposite journey, started doing streaming (well just content now) as a extra stream for my affiliate site, as at the time google was ranking pages well in it contained video guides and gameplay. I put alot of my seo knowledge into the content and it helped grow the channel quickly, unfortunately it's mostly a thing of the past as google no longer takes kindly to casino or gambling content, and I only see them getting stricter.

What suprised me is how much money I was leaving on the table on the streaming / cc side. If you have a loyal audience then you get some amazing value from them. It was also suprising at how little brands wanted to pay to work with you, shockingly low in my geo. So I only promote my own affiliate programs now.

I never ventured into twitch / kick / rumble as they have no traction in my geo.

I'm currently helping another creator move into the affiliate space from the streamiung site, but they are youngsters and are kinda lazy as they don't understand that it takes time with SEO, it's not something that you can have blow up overnight.
