    Default Happy Earth Day!

    Hello Everyone,

Today is an important day for all of us to create some awareness on how we can all protect our Earth.

The only thing that I do for my precious Earth is recycling and clothing donations. I wish, I can do more and try to leave a better place for my son.

    Cheers,

    Default Well said Connie

This is the most important cause of all, no doubt.

I think being cognizant of our actions every day is the most important action of

all. The environmental awareness factor is growing by leaps and bounds.

Hopefully the next generations will inherit technically based policies with

    practical reasoning and utilizations.

several years ago, i remodeled a half bath and laundry area into a full bath. The result was that a, cramped, unheated place that was too small for a bathroom and too small for a laundry, got some heat in the floor, a shower and my laundry units are stacked and hiding in the closet.

This was my greenest act, since replacing the 1960s furnance/AC with high efficiency, was improving my living space. Turns out replacing our top load washing machine with a front load washer reduced water usage per load by more than 50% and we had young kids so we did 10 to 15 loads a week. The new toilet replaced a 1960s model with a "low flush" toilet that needs 2 or 3 tries to get it right.

So, what sounds like the ultimate consumer move, remodelling/improving my home to make it more luxurious - ended up reducing my families water usage by 35%! I've read that anywhere from 7% to 15% of the energy used in the world is used to clean and transport potable water, which means i may have reduced my energy usage by 2.5% to 5%. Even with this poor flushing toilet that requires multiple attempts per use still saves water. And I love my shower.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - it's a great first step.
If you live in US, the Federal Government will rebate 30% via a tax credit for solar panels - with no limited and the credit is immune to AMT too. Some states are doing credits too. It's quite a bargain with a big rebate.

happy earth day - my daughter's birthday, she is now 4 and was singing "Earth Day is My Birthday" when she came home from school.
