If you see something like 10,000 visitors for $49.95 - be aware, most of the times its pings and bulk traffic,no real users.

hahaha.... I made this mistake back in the day as well.
I purchased some casino traffic and did not get a single sign-up....
Agreed.... All pings are useless traffic.... Not worth a penny to use these types of services....
SEO is the way to go.... Its takes longer to rank, but in the long run your profits will be much larger.... And it becomes easier to maintain those types of rankings.

I totally agree with you. SEO, SMO, PPC, are the best way to incrice your site traffic and rank.

If you are buying traffic to boost your site's affiliate sales conversion, that's definitely a bad idea. But if you are on page views or visits type of site monetization, buying traffic might work and can return some bucks to you. If you are serious about traffic and sales conversion, the way to achieve that is through what's already been suggested here and a high converting sales page that would lead each genuine visit to the checkout or cookied affiliated signup.

You are absolutely right we should not buy traffic from companies promising to deliver targeted traffic, dont get the results.
