In Touch Games UK License Suspended Leading To Surrender

I don't think anyone has posted this yet but In Touch Games got suspended by the UKGC last week (https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.u...-games-limited).

Since then it looks like they have surrendered the license too (newbingosites.co/what-happened-to-mfortune-and-other-intouch-brands/).

No email notification from them, just the notice on their sites, FYI for those that work with them:

We regret to inform you that we have taken the difficult decision to surrender our licence with immediate effect and you will no longer be able to deposit and use our services.
Please be assured that any outstanding balances on your account will remain protected and available to be withdrawn in accordance with our terms and conditions.
You can find further details of how to withdraw your funds by logging in to your account. If you have any queries relating to our surrender you can direct these to our customer support team by using the Support section of the website.

I just wrote them today to ask about drop in conversions, but now i got the answer.

btw, two of AM's that i was intouch with till now, both have a message of "no longer with Intouch Gaming". Seems that Skywind group acquisition went well.

Did Skywind think they were getting a bargain? With In Touch being sanctioned and fined so many times before 2022 it looks like it was already a toxic asset to me.

We scaled In Touch brands back end of last year as performance was waning and there was a worry that this very situation would happen. Glad we did.

I write to update you on an important matter concerning In Touch Games Ltd (“ITG” or the “Company”), a subsidiary of the Skywind Group.

In late August, the Gambling Commission informed ITG of serious concerns it had in relation to historic issues at ITG and how they had been handled. The Commission suspended ITG’s operating licence on Friday 1 September 2023 and commenced a review of the Company.

Following this, the Board of ITG has consulted with its management team, Skywind and advisors. The Board considers that it is in the best interests of the Company and its shareholder that it surrenders its operating license with immediate effect.

This email is intended to provide you with information surrounding the matter.

Background

ITG was acquired by Skywind Group in June 2022. ITG faced legacy issues related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Social Responsibility (SR) in the years which preceded the Skywind Acquisition.

Unfortunately, ITG continues to be affected by legacy ethical and compliance issues arising solely from the period prior to the Skywind acquisition of ITG.

Decision to surrender the operating license

It has become clear to Skywind, as ITG’s shareholder, that the cumulative effect of these continuing legacy matters presents an unacceptable risk to Skywind’s reputation and could cause irreparable damage to its business, regardless of whether the issues under review are with or without merit.

We consider it a necessary step to protect the reputation and long-term commercial interests of Skywind. This is a difficult decision to take and we understand fully the regrettable implications for business associates. Our finance department will contact you next week with further information.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Gambling Commission’s review and the surrender of ITG’s license relate solely to ITG and no other Skywind business is impacted.
