Default Can WYSIWYG sites work on yahoo or google

I am very new to all of this recently made my first website
I used a WYSIWYG program to make it since I have 0 HTML knowledge and its just plain confusing as all hell.

Recenty noticed I am on page 2 of yahoo for a couple keywords, is it possible to get on page 1 with this type of site and if not any suggestions?

Yes, you can achieve any rankings using a html. It makes no difference what program you use.

You don't NEED knowledge of html or SEO techniques - but it is an advantage.

Most WYSIWYG programs will allow you to set heading levels, add in alt text and title text to links and images and enable you to subtly mark-up your pages to better highlight the key-words that you want to have emphasied to google.

But you will need some knowledge and understanding of the principals involved in order to optimise your site, and if you are targeting competitive keywords then the competition will be using all these tricks as well.

So it's not the program used - but the skill and knowledge of the user that is the most important part.

    Yeah. That too.

What Gooner has added is correct. I guess I should update my first post to say, yeah - any rankings can equally be achieved using HTML editors but only if you know how to do it and what some of the code behind it does.
