Anyone have any good tips on increasing work motivation of a gambling webmaster?

I recently started studying work motivation and flow (psychology). I am now on a mission to get be more productive at work.

Some of the highlights are:
- Feedback of performance from self and others
- Checking off things on my Checklist
- Awareness of challenges
Hi matthewt, I think that these are the best motivational factors mentioned here for people in the gambling industry [emoji4]
There are many factors, but the most important ones in general include:
1. Recognising hard and great work.
2. Setting small but achievable and measurable goals.
3. Always feel good about yourself and those who work closely with you and always congratulate yourself whenever something good is achieved.
4. Staying positive about things, no matter what the situation is that might arise.
5. Keep yourself concentrated on the goal at hand (money, ultimately) and never give up on it. No matter what.
6. Taking regular breaks from constantly working so as to freshen yourself up and feel strong enough to go back to the tasks at hand.
7. Picturing the big picture of what you would like to attain and share positive outcomes with your work colleagues.
8. Encouraging great team work amongst your work colleagues.
9. Set out rewards between yourself and your work colleagues every time something is accomplished.
10). Lastly, have a little fun every now and then instead of constantly working too hard all the time.
Some good tips, motivation is a big issue for me these days.
Humans are evolutionarily designed to eat, sleep, and fornicate to spread the genes. Anything apart from these three pursuits requires exertion and is genetically an abnormal process.
Don't feel bad about being a lazy arse.
Earning money is quite a good motivator

Making money is the best motivator for most people, although it makes nonchalant when you're doing so.
It could also help to have realistic goals with your projects in combination with a realistic planning. It's better to have an efficient and effective working session of 8 hours than just sit 16 hours behind your screen. I am more productive if I have plans the rest of the day than when I have not.
Sometimes it's also better to keep it with the projects you're having instead of starting up again another project. Better do 2 things right, than 3 things not even half.
Also, it's kind of topsport to work for yourself. That also means enough sleep, eat healthy, etc. and having a good working place. It's nice to sit in the sun and work, but for me it's not very efficient.

I find a to do list works well and scribbling or ticking things off. Anyone who sits in front a computer all day will at some point feel like banging their head against the desk.

At this point I find destructive for you to push yourself harder to the work. All the things have to be done at once somehow (no, I do not mean some balanced hipster bullshit, which is written by obvious procrastinating losers; simply it does make sense to work 16 hours a day, eat pizza and do not exercise sometimes).
What happened I guess is that you focused too much on work, now you are getting feedback with your mind and health. Doing legal and illegal drugs when things are ****** up never helps.
At this point you (I am not talking to affiliate newbies here) should be working on answers for questions like: What you will do with the money? What will you do with the more money you will get? What will you do with the life (and other existential bullshit)? I mean you really should be working on it and not just saying some things. It might take more time to answer than it took to make the money. That might be just one of the hard parts of it. This work will not be probably done by sitting by the computer, but it will be still very hard (just not sitting by some internet connected device is very hard for us all).
I feel this is the real bottleneck for many so called "successful people". The focus on motivation at work makes no sense completely for those who do not have it already. Especially in our job it is really not significant who will grab the money from the lost souls of gamblers, so we do not have the excuse of doctors or social workers that we must save the people etc, since we are clearly destroying them. In the end we will all die and our excessive savings will be redistributed. So if we do not use the fruits of our work somehow we are really lost. Our society does not give answers for the purpose of life. The max you can get is recommendation to give money to some random charities or to help to some people who are in sh1t. But those things (like helping idiots who just digest their destroeyd karma and do not like the taste of it) do not help. Pretending that it helps makes the life just a bigger hell.
My point is that now you have to take all your courage and play it hard. You can not hide under middle class lifestyle. You have to start doing something with the world, but nobody will tell you what it is and maybe it will be completely silly.
Almost everyone I know who made decent money is struggling with similar symptoms. I really thank god it is not my problem, because I have close people and employees and cats to whom I can dedicate my life. Even more importantly I did not lose the passion for life and discovering new things. I am forcing myself to go deep into new countries and experiences which are almost always weird, painful, tiring as hell and unpleasant, because I am scared to lose the steam. I am very much scared to be trapped. So my motivation not to stop on living is very strong and motivation to work is just a byproduct and if it will be gone it will be gone. As for example vanished my motivation to have sex with every nice woman I see, which is something I had 20 years ago.
I believe this is for everyone, that is after all why I am constantly writing those things. There is high risk that this will be taken as the litanies of Mormons standing by the Tesco, but what can I do? It really works as SEO works for example. I am sure deep inside everyone knows it. Everything is about courage or in other words faith to go into uncharted territories of all kinds. You did it online, so there is no reason to not repeat it. gl

Reiterating my previous post in part, I was a hungry tiger back then. The solution to my accumulation of monetary wealth, meant I had to work harder, longer and smarter than the competition. Which, is exactly what I did.
Motivation, goals etc., will always fail, if the passion to succeed, is not your main driving focus.
I found it east to keep my motivation levels high, maybe because I had dreams and aspirations. It's no point saying 'I wont to make a million bucks', if you have no plan or purpose for that cash.
If money isn't the true motivational factor, then it should be, first and foremost.
