This term is also sometimes used is link exchange deals if one of the sites has a density of the outbound links is relatively high. So for example, if we're corresponding about link exchange and you send me a site with a lot of outgoing links and little content + your outgoing links are concentrated together in the same location on the page, I would refer to your site as a link farm and probably avoid exchanging links with you.

Over under on the OP returning months later to edit this post with their own links?

But just in case this is a legitimate question: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+is+Link+Farming

Link farming is a group of websites that in every hyperlink there's always a share to other group or other websites. But usually this technique can also be done by hand or sometimes automated.

LMGTFY - perhaps the best "captain obvious" resource there is. I use it a lot! Glad to see someone else uses it too! *high fives*

I use the word 'link farm' to indicate the website that have more than 15 external links (OBL's). Many webmasters create the websites in order to sell links on them. But their partners get little link juice because the more OBL's the website has the less link juice they get to their websites.
In former times I sold a few ads on my websites. I never put more than 8 OBL's in order to my partners could get a lot of link juice from my websites. My prices were high but I always had the clients because of it.

Yes link farms are bad....since they are considered bad neighborhoods.

This term is used for those links which have relatively high inbound links. Suppose if we are dealing with link exchange procedure and you have sent me a link which has a little content too. Both of these are at the same position of the page. Then it will be called Link Farm.

    Yes,

Link farms can be considered bad neighbohoods and you do not want to link to a bad neighborhood.
