Default Harrah's to enter European online market

Gambling911 is reporting that American casino giant Harrah's will be expanding its presence in the European market.

Harrah's announced Friday that it established a new subsidiary, Harrah's Interactive Entertainment, Inc. to manage the global growth of the World Series of Poker and explore a European interactive strategy.

Speculation is that Harrah's will join forces with PartyGaming. Sources close to Gambling911.com have also suggested that Harrah's will be ready to launch its own online poker site in the US once the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA) is overturned. That process is likely to begin this summer should an Appeals Court find in favor of the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association (iMEGA.org) and its challenge against the UIGEA as "Unconstitutional".

    Nice bit of hypocrisy.

Fund the anti-online gambling lobbyists for years in the US but happy to go take money from the Europeans.

I hope all the gaming industry associations, regulators and trade organisations make their lives very difficult in Europe and the UK.

And who else think the Garber appointment is nothing but a pre cursor to a takeover of Party Gaming. Boy, will that be a huge surprise.

    Default Hypocricy indeed

I hope Europe closes the door in their face. Certainly would be justified.

So much for the Free Trade Agreement lol

From what I remember, they have held a licence in Alderney for years...
