Just wanted to see how much interest there was out there from affiliates to branch out into non-traditional areas as a form of cross-promotion.
The X Factor finals programmes have kicked off here in the UK and, like other operators, we've released a suite of static and odds banners as well as a Landing Page.
I'd be interested to hear from affiliates themselves about what they think about promoting markets like these and from AM's as well. If you're an out-and-out sports site, is the addition of even a small amount of this type of content just polluting your site or do you see benefit in squeezing as much value as possible from the visitors to your pages?
My take on it is that markets like these for 'Recreational' punters have potential to generate a higher net rev per player that other traditional betting markets which might be more knowledge based.
Viewers of the X Factor and shows like this tend to identify their favourite act pretty early on and nail their colours to the mast so might they be more likely to let their heart rule their head and bet on theirfavourite ignoring the form or (lack of) talent?
The challenge of course is to engage those viewers, lead them to a betting site and get the registration, deposit and bet without losing them or them getting scared off. They may not be at all familiar with betting websites so how do we address that and help them along the way?
