They finally mine from their monopoly what they can. They really do crazy things everywhere.

This is not that much about popups but more about big lightboxes/interstitials in mobiles. It makes no sense for me if they have already algo that counts a bounce rate (but it seems their algo is not that good as they claimed for years, so it is not a user that will decide what is good and bad, but google will).

I hate these with a passion! On a mobile they annoy me so much that if an article does it I just leave. It makes my blood boil just thinking about it.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. If even people in marketing hate the independent freemium models, then inevitably we all will end in very ugly environment. Both as internet users and affiliates.

Nobody likes intrusive ads but they are the only ones that work. I will rather live with them or use adblock than to have here one huge company that dictates what is allowed and what is not. There is no difference if it says stupid corporation or stupid state. Yes, ads are annoying, everything is shifting to paid content... slowly. But if everyone is choked off this transition will be disrupted and it will be just Google, who will cash it all.

I am seriously considering to buy some GOOGL as a hedge to my affiliate business. Either I am fine in future and maybe Google is too. Or Google will take over in each corner of the internet, I am screwed, but at least I have some appreciated shares.
