I'm sure there's viable commercial reasons but it's soooo out of the way (depending on where you want to be ofc!)

Ye long way to Travel back and Forth .. all depends on what hotels are booked and where the functions will be held.

Haven't been out that side for ages but isn't it meant to be a lively part of town young and Vibey ?

Venue is Nice lots of food places etc so there are advantages but .. not sure

Er... no. There's nothing around excel so you'll spend your whole time going into london.

ye always lived in the NW of London so could be a mission are the docks not revamped etc with places to go etc ? Just curious if theres nothing of interest then people will be put off for sure

You can go back and forth on the Emirates Air line.

It's a place to go.

Excel is close to London City Airport? Maybe LAC should sponsor a private shuttle bus service from the conference hotel to the event to run every 10 minutes throughout the day while the event is on.

Hmm, yes it seems kinda far from everywhere in London unless you fly into City Airport. Not my favourite venue, but haven't been for few years so let's give it a chance at least.

The DLR runs from round the corner of the official hotel, to the ExCel, it takes 15-20 minutes and we're the first stop meaning we will get a seat .

That sounds pretty easy - and cheaper than the usual cab fare.

Yea few things

Main hotel will be at Tower Bridge which is 25 mins door to door from hotel (17 mins on DLR) so we are actually closer to the main city than we were when we were at Olympia especially as Olympia doesn't even have a tube anymore unless you have a gigantic consumer event

In 2017 Cross rail opens which means Heathrow to Excel will be 45 mins, Paddington 20 mins and Liverpool St 10 mins so SUPER fast

I think it will be a really good thing. Like in Berlin the expo hall will be a bit out of the center but unlike Berlin its a lot easier and quicker to get to and has much better facilities in and around it such as O2 and Canary wharf. In addition we will now have a permanent home for LAC and will be able to properly invest in the event and its features.

Great Alex hopefully it goes well for you guys .. can you elaborate a bit on what features your thinking about adding or is that a secret ..
