UK Gambling Commission suspends Genesis Global license

The UKGC announced last week that it is suspending the license of Genesis Global, saying it "suspected" the company "breached a condition of the licence (section 116(2)(a) of the Act)) and is unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities (section 116(2)(c)(i)) of the Act)."

From the UKGC:

We therefore consider it appropriate to suspend the licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review.
The licence suspension, effective from 20 July 2020, makes it illegal for Genesis Global Limited to offer gambling services via the following websites in Great Britain:

We have instructed the operator to facilitate customers accessing their accounts to withdraw funds and advise customers not to place any bets through the above websites.

If a customer has questions concerning their account we advise they contact the operator through the website they have used.

I did wonder if it may of been because of affiliates running incorrect/outdated promos, since Galaxy sent an email last week saying a number of affiliate sites had been flagged by the UKGC to them. And to update the promos urgently or your account would be terminated, but the section the UKGC refer to for suspending the license states:

"has reason to suspect that activities may have been carried on in purported reliance on the licence but not in accordance with a condition of the licence"

Which is rather vague, they are appealing it so we will just have to wait and see what the outcome is.

It is so difficult to keep on top of all these. We are all doing our best to be sure we are complaint.
