Default more pages or more sites

Do you have a better chance at being " successful" with more pages or more sites.

Ive noticed some of you have a bunch of sites with a medium amount of content on each site..then there are some who have 1 maybe 2 sites with a massive amount of content.

    So which way is best?

I would say content is the way to go.
Keep in mind the search engines like to see updated content on your website.

I think having one main site with as much fresh content as possible is a good idea. You'll have a site with 1000+ pages in no time.

But if you want to explore new angles or new keywords then a new site is perfect for that.

But more sites = diluted efforts.

If the site in your sig is your main site then my advice is to focus on growing + improving that site first. If you make another site now you will simply duplicate your mistakes and avoid learning how to improve the existing site.

I agree 100% with the post above - except I think you can explore new keywords on yuor main site. it will have authroity and allow you to rank for those terms quicker and easier.

This is a difficult one because it can work both ways.
I have seen many affiliates with just one large site which is very profitable. The only downside to this is that if for some reason the site gets banned ( and this does happen even if the webmaster is not intentionally using black hat techniques ) then of course you have a major problem.
Personally I prefer to have many websites, but try and make each website fall into a specific niche - i.e flash casinos, country specific, marvel slots, poker, bingo etc. This can also work as you have more "window fronts " but it is difficult to keep them updated and add fresh content all the time.
They still need to be worked on all the time, because you could have 1000 sites, but its no use if they are all sitting on page 324 on google!!!

for a week I have used google to search (no deposit casino bonuses) and Ive noticed a couple of sites with barely any content ranking on the first and second pages. they seem to fluctuate between the 1st and 2nd pages..

Are they cheating or are they just that good.

As for my site I'm constantly going back and restructuring my pages to look a bit more professional. I want to stay away from looking to much like all the others but at the same time its difficult trying to keep up with content and keep reinventing pages everyday...lol

More content does not mean better rankings but having 1 site with tons of good quality content which gets tons of visitors and builds trust is better than 100 sites with just 1 page of content that only a few people use.

Hey Rick, It could be worse - you could be on page 324 and we all know how one page can make a big difference

I have seen someone rank a one page site no 1 in google for a competitive term just by manipulating links. Having said that, they are destined only for a short stay there until google hits them with a ban hammer. Long term, quality content will always win.

Why not have one main (large) site and a bunch of (smaller) supporting sites. Put all your main efforts into the primary site, and use the secondary sites as feeders. Make sure the secondary sites are not hosted on the same server.

We have both , some sites with thousands of pages and others about specific things with 10 pages or less that rank high in google. So I do not think any answer is wrong here.

Default More Pages or more sites

I've tried both and from the management end more pages are better for me. they all equate to the more pages, the more SERP's so it really is a personal choice whether you want to manage 10 sites or 200-400 pages on one URL.

The only advantage to having multiple sites is added omph from a little cross linking....but don't over do it.

If there are building a site just for some quick coin and then hit that site with tons of links then they will rank for a while until Google clicks on, maybe some good money in the short run but defiantly not a long term solution.

Great post - I was wondering about the same thing or awhile already. When I originally purchased Gambler's Den I bought 4 other domains as well with the intention of getting them up and running eventually. Little did I know how much work learning the ropes and keeping one domain updated was! At the moment I am devoting 99% of my efforts to my main site, and once in awhile I'll throw another domain a bone - I've set myself a goal that when I have a certain amout of content on my main site I'll start adding content to a different site, most likely to try to carve out another area in Google's SERP.

Content is the main thing for every website,So Its necessary that your content should be informative enough so that every one come and visit your site.Which will increase your impression. So no need to go for more site just concentrate on the massive and attractive content on your website page.

I have started with the principal that I wanted to put all my efforts into one site because it is better to have a single site at no.1 for key search terms rather than 20 sites sitting on the 5th page.

Nearly 1 year on and I am glad I used that philosophy it seems to finally be paying off, however I have recently purchased several domains that contain specific search terms with the intention of having several small sites/blogs to use to promote my primary site.

I think the comment "diluted efforts" sums it up in 2 words.

Agreed - I have one main site that gets 80% of my time. The others sites support it and have some unigue keywords that do not drive massive traffic by any means but traffic nonetheless.

I owuld rather have 1 good site than 5 mediocre ones.
