Has anyone tried Vivaldi recently?

[universal4]

I came across this article with some recent benchmarks and I see that Vivaldi is now tied with Chrome on performance in html5 and Edge won two of the categories.

I actully like using edge some however I run Windows 7 on my main laptop so I do not site down at a windows 10 computer near as often as I would like.

Here is a yahoo article that has benchmarks on the top browsers.

Interesting numbers, I wish they would have benchmarked IE 10 I wonder if it would have scored better than 11.

Thanks for sharing. To be honest this is the first time I've heard about this browser. Anyway, I'm used to Chrome already too much, so I can't imagine switching for now

Is that a rebrand? "Vivaldi is a freeware web browser developed by Vivaldi Technologies, a company founded by Opera Software". "Vivaldi aims to revive the old, popular features of Opera 12 and introduce new, more innovative ones"

I've been with Firefox since forever I guess and don't really feel like switching over unless it's A MASSSSSSIVE improvement in speed, memory use, website handling etc.

I've heard of it, but I like FireFox too much to switch to any other browser.

never got on with FF myself, use Chrome but it crashes Adobe Shockwave far too much for some reason, which is a right pain in the arse

I had the exact same problem with firefox, ended up being a problem with audio drivers on my new laptop.
Only downside I found with chrome is lack of integration with roboform (and giving even more data to google)

Well I use firefox the most, but it crashes and leaks memory to a degree, so I think the crashing is likely due more to bad code on sites as well as how difficult it is for any browser to keep up with so many changes and still be at least somewhat backwards compatible.

I will state I use Firefox 38.5.2 but that is the absolute LAST version you could get that did not have all the add-ons embedded that can not be removed. Yes I have read all the support crap lies about how they could be disabled, but the developers have a clear path and reason why they embedded the pocket and that phone stuff in the source code instead of as add-ons that could be REMOVED.

I do load up and use Opera on occasion, and it seems to take longer to load but is a bit faster after that. What I did not like about Opera is the forced speed dial page for new tabs but an extension allows me to manipulate that.

As for chrome crashing more with adobe, I think is due to constant changes in adobe, and the general push to get away from all things flash.

I admit, I have never heard of it.

I use IE, FF and Chrome, all for different things.

IE - all internal tools and anything work related browsing.
FF - GPWA and other forums
Chrome - A couple of internal tools as well as any personal browsing.

I like chrome the most as it very rarely has any issues for me.

I probably don't need to add any more browsers to the mix.
