unfortunately Playtech isn't a big fan of US IP addresses, meaning that these games are not available to US residents, fun or real mode. We would love to be able to offer them but we can't.

Would like anyone using these games (embedded) on their sites to drop me a link to see a few examples of how they are implimented.

It isn't real clear what code we are to use, going into the backend, you enter the marketing tools section, select flash games, and the choices are banner groups, individual banners or complete page of banners....I dont want banners I want the games....why over complicate things?

Banner Groups from whati can see means you can choose the entire set of games , be it slots , video poker or table games . Perhaps they should have worded that a bit better.

Im pretty sure that US players can play it as well. I might be wrong re this as i have not tested it with a proxy. MGM pulled the free play version of Rocky and Pink Panther because they were afraid of even free play by US players on these games. If you are in the US you should be able to test this out

I would avoid Wager Junction. I recently found that clicks from their games had not been tracking to our account for well over a year. To give a sense of scale I'm talking about hundreds of thousands of play sessions on their games. Fortunately we had other calls to action and offer comparisons on the pages that went to various different Playtech casinos, but anyone who clicked play for real inside their game became their customer for free.

I sent a detailed email with information about where the clicks were going and how they were not being tagged. The next day wouldn't you know it the redirects from the clicks had changed and they were tracking properly. They never once replied to me, nor did they apologise or offer compensation even after follow up emails.

There's a high chance that the tracking has not been working for anyone using their games for a long time. They are shonky.

I don't think the issue is specific to WJ. We started changing over the games to Bet365 because of how annoyed we were at what happened and subsequently being ignored. But Bet365 seems to have the same problem and have acknowledged it, and last we heard they are looking into it (that reminds me to follow up with them).

The specific problem is this. If the user clicks play for real and they are redirected via a URL like this then you have a problem:

You may have to use firebug or a http traffic inspector to see where it is going because it redirects several times between different URLs almost immediately. Otherwise click play for real and try to hit the stop loading browser button at the right time.

The key bit is the "&member=" part. If there is nothing there after the equals sign and before the next & symbol like in the link above then tracking is not working for you. I asked both WJ and Bet365 if they were using a cookie instead but it appears not. A day after I complained to WJ it was changed so that it said something like "&member=ouraffiliateid" for us.

Here are some figures to chew on: 294261 impressions, 12 depositors, over the past 2 years. That is a 1 in 19600 conversion rate. I am willing to bet those depositors were referred from the review pages for their casinos as opposed to the free games which would account for over 99% of those impressions (as an aside it would be far more useful to us if they did not record an impression unless someone actually clicks play for real). So either the free games are completely worthless in as far as gaining depositors so we should not bother with them anyway (however we know they aren't from our experience with other providers) or we have potentially missed out on loads of referrals.

The fact WJ changed the tracking link the day after I emailed them (on June 12, and follow up on June 21) clearly indicates that they know about the issue and did indeed receive my emails despite protestations to the contrary. I assume they probably fixed it for everybody that same day but who knows, maybe not?

I guess this has been addressed because when I click on the play for real button I see the member and profile except for hulk and great white, these still work as Muppet reported when launching the game or clicking the play for real.

there also may be a problem with the cookie and profile.

You can see in the above url the profile and (xmen) game id match. This is with the cookie cleared.

You can clearly see the profile still indicates xmen.

I get the same results whether using ie or ff.

Yeah something is still not right here, and it most likely affects all Playtechs supplying these games.

I highly recommend covering the play for real buttons with a non clickable overlay and including your own play buttons on the page instead.

The games have a nag screen when you win a big amount so there is a signup path.

Yes I know but its the best you can do. From what I have seen though, not all versions of the games have the nag screen. If you get the newer version where there is a similar coloured menu bar across the top and bottom of the game window the nags don't happen. There is however a play for real button inside the cashier popup that you can't get rid of.

In regards to the two links above (from slotplayer), I did some tests myself and I saw that the URL keeps the profile that was clicked first. So in this instance, if you went to play Gladiator or Mummy afterwards, the URL would still show the "ksxmen" profile. I believe it has something to do with cache and I believe it's a Playtech thing, but I will run more tests. I just wanted to reply quickly here, cause this doesn't affect tracking but it might affect statistics (for those checking their profiles and which ones convert better).

UPDATE: I just got a reply from my IT guys, the reason it keeps "ksxmen" is the cookie length, it keeps the first one clicked. It could show the latest one clicked, but then the cookie lenght would have to be 0 and I don't believe anyone would like that.

Well if ALL cookies were over-writable this would not be an issue.

So if I visit Muppets site, and play a game, but then visit slotplayer's site a few hours later and play a game, but then decide to join the casino I will be tagged to Muppet's tag since the cookies is NOT over-writable.....

Not everyone agrees, but in my opinion this is WRONG since the site that mnade the sale (slotplayer's site in the above scenario) should get the credit.....

If the profile is not over-written....neither is the aff tag.....

The cookie expiry is only 72 hours which is incredibly short. It is my understanding that expired cookies are not sent by the browser.

So my question is once the cookie expires (after 72 hours) what happens? Is a new cookie written if the same visitor comes back?

Hi and apologies for the delay in replying. I had some chats with the IT guys and we agreed that the last referrer needs to get the credit so we have spoken to Playtech and have enabled Cookie Override on the system. We have tested this and it does work. We will continue testing over the next few days as well to ensure that no glitches occur. The 72 hour cookie period is still in force, but as cookies can now be overwritten - we think that this is a good thing.

We are continuing to liase with Playtech regarding the game links to ensure that they are functioning. A lot of our partners have used these games to great effect and we are determined that this will be the case moving forward.

I still have questions.

I'm still concerned that once the cookie expires and a player comes back and plays again, then registers, affiliates are not credited.
Any assurance this is or never was the case?

My second question is the advertiser variable:
The first game link is king kong launched, the second link is url after the play for real button is clicked, my concern is the advertiser in [] because with KS as indicated by the second pair of urls my aff. id is clearly passed.

@slotplayer, we've emailed Playtech with High Importance re your points and their tech department is looking into it. The links are in the game and therefore we have no control over them so I have to wait for their reply.
