Default mecca bingo affiliates add new negative terms

I used to have an affiliate account with Mecca Bingo but sold the account along with a few websites and am now quite thankful I did.

I am hearing from a few friends that the mecca bingo affiliate program have introduced a few new terms including a negative carryover policy as well as being able to remove you from the affiliate program whenever they wish to.

Does anyone have the email from them re this. I applied again to join them, but it seems they can not get my account working for some reason.

It seems the Mecca Bingo affiliate program are not affiliate friendly if the above is the case.

They sent this email out right after the T&C's update, so I guess there actually isn't NCO:

Apologies, there was a mistake in the last terms and conditions that was sent out. Clause 5 will be amended to the below:

    No Negative Carryover

In the event that there is a Net Loss in any month, Net Loss will not be carried over to the following month.

They haven't been affiliate friendly in quite some time. About a year ago, if memory serves me correctly, they sent out a mass email closing "inactive affiliate accounts". The email was sent on 1 October 2012 as a cc and it showed all the affiliates contact info who received the email.

    Dear affiliate,

As per our previous communication, your affiliate account has been suspended following a 6 months continuative inactivity.
If your account was not to be suspended or you would like to keep working with us, please do not hesitate to contact your affiliate manager.

    Best regards,

    The Rank Affiliates team

It was as of this day that we concluded that they were not friendly to affiliates (in addition to being idiots for not knowing how to send a proper email).

    Good to know, thanks.

I've only just started working with them, but tbh the results haven't been great so far anyway.

It's a shame they haven't tried to raise their game with these new terms and conditions. At one time they were a half decent program that were relatively easy to convert but then they went downhill and didn't care about affiliates.

Thanks Baldidiot for the update - damn now ive got to go and amend the article i wrote about that - i knew i shouldnt have jumped the gun. What amazes me is that a company the size of Rank do not give a monkey about the aff side. Its no wonder the execs in charge there lost control of the company last year ( i think it was last year) They seem to be fast asleep.

It's a shame that this has happened, companies should not change their terms after you agree to something. We will check to see if we have had a problem with them as well.

OCR - they went back on that change and as per the above they have not gone live with the negative carryover term. I jumped the gun a bit there as I am not getting mail from them due to an opening of account issue. One thing i have discovered though is a responsive email address on the Mecca Bingo Affiliate site. For those that need it this guy has already emailed me twice re the issue in a single day . That is a record for Mecca

    Email addy is : Graeme.Hoyne@rankinteractive.com

Yes you are correct, I see email from Graeme Hoyne with the correction from 4 days ago
