Quick question, how do you affiliates cater for VAT that are in the UK? My accountant has been saying there are different schemes and things we need to do depending on where the company we are dealing with is based. Do you all account for VAT or do you somehow make it exempt from VAT?

Your accountant is correct. It all depends on the companies you work with. There are multiple parameters that you have to deal with like location, the way they pay tax, ...
I'm based in Belgium and everytime I do business with one of the "exotic" companies I have to ask my accountant what to do with it. For some companies I charge tax, others are exempted from tax, others already pay the tax so I don't have to pay it anymore.
