Default Finding writers with specific credentials?

Does anyone know how we'd go about finding a writer with a specific academic credential? For example, if we wanted some work done by a trained and licensed Veterinarian or Medical Doctor who is also willing to have their name and credentials in the byline to give authority to what's been written?

You see this type of thing quite a lot on bigger websites and newspaper columns, but no idea how you go about finding the right type of person as they probably aren't going to be on elance/peopleperhour.

I wonder if they all go through specific agencies due to the legal ramifications of medical writing? I am sure you have to have all sorts of disclaimers and insurance when making medical statements (above board).

I've got a friend who does medical writing, Ill ask her for the low down.

Cheers bud, that makes sense. If you could find out from your friend that would be awesome.

As a side note, we're more interested in finding a Vet to do writing at the moment rather than a medical dr, but could well be along the same lines.

You could just Google the names of the people writing on those bigger websites and newspaper columns, and then contact them.

Also, you can probably find a directory of licensed veterinarians, then scrape all the e-mail addresses out of that directory and send a mass e-mail asking whether they'd be interested in writing for you & if they have any previous writing experience.

Could always contact vetinary schools on facebook. I'm sure you could find students willing to write articles for a decent price too (unless they need to be fully qualified)

Well, docs and vets are needed everywhere, so just check for local ones?
