Facebook is okay as it has the most active users - but betting is frowned upon and you may find that your account is suspended indefinitely.

Google+ just doesn't have the volume.

Twitter is probably your best bet as they allow gambling pages and there are plenty of people looking for 'tipsters' on twitter.

Links from any social networks are great. A link from Google+ can give you a better ranking by certain keyword, but it will lead to Google+ page first, where you have placed a link to your website.

Twitter is the best for traffic in iGaming affiliate business I believe.

You should also consider on which social network you can actually be active and gain some social buzz, it's a significant ranking factor nowadays.
If you'l open a social-network account just for the heck of it, or even for just auto-posting copy-pasted content from your site, that wouldn't help much.

Not particularly so, I have plenty of friends that have ONLY marketed themselves through facebook, you just have to know how. Obviously you can't come right out and talk about gambling, but there are other ways to monetize a good facebook account, i.e. buzzfeed type of posts, good tips and content that won't get flagged.

Linkedin is an amazing network & a great business tool.
However, it's more focused on B2B relations rather on B2C.
In my opinion most of the affiliate sites are looking to expand their B2C exposure when looking at potential social-network channels.

I would say Facebook at nr 1 just because the large portion of the population using it daily. nr. 2 Twitter, nr. 3 YouTube (not sure if you could count it as social media), and last Google +.

    LinkedIn encourages spam.

Anyone that has a LinkedIn account can give your email address to THEM without permission by simply syncing their address books.

Even though the people in the address books have NOT given permission to LinkedIn to place the email addresses in their database, once done, LinkedIn will now start emailing those contacts, even though no one on the list has given permission for such.

Also, if you make a connection with someone, there is no way to hide your email address from anyone on the "connection" list. So anyone that you have connected with can capture, compile and sell the email contacts of their "connections".

If LinkedIn truly cared about it's users privacy, they would close both of those holes.....but then they would have to purchase their spam lists instead of being given them freely by their members.

LinkedIn is a fair recruiting tool for those looking for work and those businesses looking for employees.

Making connections within specified verticals is decent enough, if you don't mind giving people you know nothing about your email address.

To put in my few pence/cents/pesos/dimes worth ... I have found google+ very powerful ... BUT you have to be really careful about what you post and how you post it. They will ban you for any direct links to gambling sites very quickly! Facebook gains you likes through advertising, but the problem with Facebook is that likes have to follow your page and request that they get your posts in newsfeed otherwise you can have 700 likes and only 2 persons that your post reaches and Twitter hmmm ..debatable.

I think all social platforms have their ups and downs. Twitter is great because word gets spread much faster, Facebook is great because not all use Twitter, but it's a problem if people that liked your page don't follow your posts. Google+ is a bit grey area for me. I find it hard to acquire friends there.

I think social is the part where different parts of the igaming industry are really separated. While sharing a news from a big poker win is fun, sharing the annoying loss of your favourite team is a must to talk about, liking a trading site is fancy, liking a casino strategy makes your friends think that you are a gambling addict. If I ever put together a betting site then I will definetely want to go viral on social, but now we're happy for the minimum

Google + has produced a LOT of business for me, and if used correctly I think can be better than FB!
