I do think that more casinos will slowly add bitcoin as a funding method, but I do not agree that it is such a huge advantage.

The properties that are adding bitcoin are doing so with a very guarded approach, and I also think think the addition of bitcoin often sees the properties undergoing even more scrutiny from the various government authorities around the world.

For me the biggest USP for Bitcoins is the kind of anonymity.

If you mix Bitcoins into a usual casino with usual payment options this advantage is gone.
... just Bitcoins or no Bitcoins.

I don't see why players would ever use bitcoin in a licensed casino, after all they have no protection or recourse if things go wrong (or send bitcoins to the wrong address). Not to mention the difficulties in funding a bitcoin wallet.
For illegal sites accepting players from grey markets it just makes it easier for them to run of with players money.

BitCasino.io is probably the biggest by far with NetEnt, QuickFire and others on board.

Others I can say good things about are mBit Casino. CloudBet apparently does well, but I can't say much good about their management of affiliates (none has been in touch with me even though we generate somewhat decent revenue there now).

Seriously, given the issues that there have been with major exchanges ripping off bitcoins in the last year, there are apparently legitimate concerns regarding whether to store coins at an exchange, on a local wallet on a computer or in cold storage, and what ratio is best.

Throw in difficulty understanding the time frames and costs in being able to convert the different mediums and you end up with a big WTF?!! by mainstream players and affiliates when trying to comprehend the best way to get involved without making costly mistakes.

The attitude you've displayed is common within bitcoin circles, and it's no wonder that crypto-coins continue to fluff around the margins of online gambling and fail to grow in this area - despite having some clear possibilities.

Totally agree with the approach, everywhere is is risk, there is an opportunity.
I will give one Asian a example of a well known operation, which added bitcoin to their platform and almost within a day, 15% of all deposits went thru bitcoin. Another point is the fact that today, there are more than 800 operators in the eco system, casinos, lotteries, poker room, sport booking and many more, all are bitcoin only or bitcoin+fiat operators.

From the other side, the players, they already know the advantages for them. Also they know the risk. Any player can stay anonymous 100%, there are no charge backs, the transaction is immediate and more. Again, risk and benefit.

Anyone that uses a bitcoin exchange to exchange bitcoins into the fiat currency of their country or of their choice is NOT anonymous, those who run the exchanges know their identity, and often their banking details, home addresses and more. (How can an exchange wire you money if they don't know your name? How can they send you a paypal, or send a check, or other ewallet payment otherwise)

The fact that they promise to HIDE that information from the various government bodies, does NOT mean they will not divulge it at some point if forced to do so in order to stay in business in that country.

Bitcoin and other digital currencies can not experience the true growth they are capable of until this is fixed and the anonymous farce is ended.

The exchanges just need to start following all the normal and accepted standards and practices of other world wide financial institutions (and yes the regulations too) in order to truly become mainstream.

In my opinion, the exchange know this deep down, they are just trying to get their databases of customers as large as possible before they are forced to move that direction or end operations.

This one is a big no-no for me.

Good legitimate programs in well regulated jurisdictions are NOT accepting anonymous bets.
They are operating proper Know-Your-Customer (KYC) procedures to prevent underage gambling and problem gambling.

Promoting anonymous gambling usually means tinpot programs with no real regulation = bad risk for players overall.

I have to agree Gooner, and in fact I would become very apprehensive with any program that claimed they were offering completely anonymous betting.

I agree with you guys, but you are ignoring markets like USA, Indonesia, China and parts of Russia.
Maybe in regulatd markets and in places like the UK, its less relevant / less popular / less used

About bitcoin exchange, you just do not know the full facts.

Example 1: One can send money from his exchange ( BTC balance ) to ATM machine ( Local currency ), he gets two passwords for the transaction, one to his email and one to his cellphone ( open a dummy yahoo and use pre paid sim ). All he have to do now is to go to the ATM, type in the two passwords and take the cash. Its working already in several countries

Example 2: One can take local cash, connect to supplier at local bitcoin or portable device like coinkite, give over the cash and get balance to his bitcoin wallet. It can be external wallet or already his player balance wallet.

It is NOT a case of us Ignoring the markets you mentioned, and in fact it is in those markets where Bitcoin is drawing the most criticism from the government.

You just explained two ways that people think keeps them anonymous, but again you ignore the FACTS:

Those running the exchanges KNOW their customer, know their names, their cell phone numbers (how else could they send the passwords to get the funds) and other identifying information that removes the anonymity. They are also loopholes in which the US as well as other governments want to close.

In my opinion Bitcoin is not needed for online casino and bookmakers, although from an affiliates perspective Bitcoin gambling sites convert better. I think that more and more programs are going to accept Bitcoins, however it will lead to problems. If someone is really anonymous then how can they report a problem (as the gooner and universal said). The whole anonymous thing is false and can be very dangerous if someone needs help. My two cents.
