Hi all, Jack here again. I'd greatly appreciate your recommendations but NOT in the UK because of 15% tax.. Thanks so much!

Thanks for your recommendation, but I've heard that UK hosting accounts will force me to pay the new 15% tax. Is that true?

Shared hosting is always a bit of a headache. I assume you want to be on a shared machine so that the pricing is extremely low.

I'm sure there are hosts that are better than others, but from my experience back when I had shared hosting accounts with a couple different providers it seemed to be more luck of the draw based on which actual machine your account got setup on.

Most shared machines have hundreds, sometimes even thousands of other accounts on them. So you may be lucky and be on a machine with many other accounts that are mostly dormant. Or you may get put on one where there are some real demands on the server, be it scripts, high traffic sites, or sites that have been hacked by spammers (the worst).

I've got a dedicated server now with Arvixe.com and love it, but I can't personally vouch for their shared hosting. Support has always been good though, and I know that's the same for both managed servers and shared hosting.

I use OVH share hosting , it's cheap and reliable, I host multiple sites on one hosting package. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about ovh.

I think that the 15% UK gambling tax is for gambling operations that have UK domiciled customers.
I do not think that it has anything to do with taxing affiliate websites.

Thanks a lot for the info. I know what you mean about shared hosting, but unfortunately my budget is limited.
