Default What converts better? The sign up page or the casino "home" page?

Which page do you send your slots/roulette/casino customers to and why? The sign up page or the general home page? I have been sending most of my customers directly to the sign up page which has led to some clicks but not very many conversions. I am not getting enough traffic right now to do a split test. Any thoughts?

    Hi Wolfie,

Why don’t you try to using specific landing pages that feature an ongoing promotion or the welcome bonus.

    Good luck with your sites!

As Maria says, use specific bonuses to send them to promotional landing pages.

I never send traffic directly to a sign up page. Usually either to a landing page for whatever the person is looking for (so a roulette landing page for roulette traffic, the bonus offer for bonus traffic etc..) or for non specific traffic it's a toss up between the welcome bonus landing page and the product page.

I mainly send traffic to the homepage of a casino. I am a gambler also, and I always want to check the selection of games and how the overall layout of the site is. If the landing page is professionally made, but the homepage is really bad, that wont convert in my opinion.

I never send traffic directly to the signup page. It might appear a bit pushy. If I click on an ad that I'm interested in, then it's because I want to learn more about the product or the service that is being offered. If I'm interested enough to try it or buy it, then I'll click on the signup/purchase link. But if my initial click takes me to a signup page before I've had a chance to really examine the offer, then it will just put me off.

For pages (on my own site) where I've established "enough" credibility to "close" the deal immediately, I almost always choose the signup page or a landing page that is designed to get 1 click to signup and deposit.

For general pages (think those pages that feature a "best of" or "suggested" type of list that features more than 1 site), I generally find a nice landing page or send to the home page, as it is up to the operator to build a bit more cred on the back of being a featured site in my list.

I have found many signup only pages are just that, sign up or leave....no way to get to the home page and no way to go to the faq, support or read the terms.

This is not true of all brands, but I have questioned many many times why a program feels it is better to send visitors away, if they do not convert on the spot.

Specifically designed landing pages, that answer the visitors questions, and allow them to browse the rest of the site in case they are still sitting on the fence can increase conversions, (but in my opinion the JOIN or LEAVE method is not cool)

There is always a link to terms on the sign up pages. Not that anyone reads those...

I agree with the others. It depends on the page you are referring them from.

Use home page, landing page or if you are a site about blackjack then send to a blackjack landing page if the casino program has it.

You should try to link to what you are promoting. If you push Blackjack link to the casino blackjack landing page, if you are doing a slot review, link to that, and so on

I agree with most that the homepage is always better. Most people want to browse the site a little before committing to signing up. Landing pages are good also but personally I have not had much luck with them. For me anyway the general homepage always seems to work out best. The exception to that is a co-branded landing page that resembles the homepage if you are offering a special bonus, one that is more than the standard bonus.

for me I would agree the the consensus and say that a splash page that promotes a specific sign up bonus will work much more successfully at converting than the sign up page or home page. Most affiliates will offer specific landing pages based on their latest promotions. Choose their best offer based on your target market and I think you will see some better results over time for sure! Good Luck

I really think the sign up pages scares people away, so I prefer directing them to a dedicated lp or the homepage.

I know personally if I am going to ever "buy" anything from a site, the very first thing I always do is check out the home page. Therefore I have been linking to the homepage of every site. I also figure they made that page the face of their brand for a reason.

I think a separate landing page clearly depicting the offer with attractive design will do the trick..

I would prefer landing on the home page or a special landing page, because it gives me the opportunity to see what the casino has to offer before I decide to sign up.
