This is just fwiw....because I don't and never have used Wordpress, so can't really comment on its value above anything else.

But I've used a WYSIWYG website builder for about 8 years without any (obvious) ranking problems (not Webs.com, but I suspect it's OK). Easy to use, never had to learn anything about html to use it. But it has limitations that I don't think I'd have had with Wordpress (though there are ways around).

If I could go back, I'd probably have gone the Wordpress route from the start....or maybe better still, learned how to code properly

But hopefully you will get some comments back from experts who can give you a real steer on this.

    Tnx for your comment!
I've tried first with WordPress.com and then i was told that under their terms of conditions a gambling site is not aloud, so i started my site with webs.com. now i heard that WordPress.org should be o.k. and i'm having a really hard time deciding whether to start from the beginning (not out of laziness, i just want to make sure i make the right decision) or just continue to build with webs.com.
Hope to get some more comments to help me decide...
    Tnx again!

Wordpress is much easier because there is no manual coding, there are tons of free plugins for it, and it's easier to add content because you're not constantly uploading files, unless they are image files, etc. It's so much easier to just type in the content and press publish.

    Tnx sweetbet!
I was told that WordPress is much easier to work with, but is it WordPress.org or WordPress.com? and which host should i use? don't want to work on a gambling site that would be shut down after a while, that's why i'm thinking of continuing building on webs.com.

Wordpress all the way for me, free plugins, quick, easy and time-efficient so you can get more done in less time.

Both webs.com and wordpress.com have many 1000s of online gambling sites hosted on them.

At any time I would prefer wordpress. With more than 2 million world wide users, WP is always up to date, foolproof and almost failsafe. If you use SEO by yoast - you are also having an advantage point regarding SEO. .

wordpress is definitly a good tool but I always prefer custom solutions so if you have the opportunity to build up a custom website then I would reccommend to do it.

Wordpress.com is ok, even better I think. it's easy to navigate and to update the content. I don't know much about Wordpress.org

I just set up a new site using wordpress.org you can host it yourself for just a few dollars a month (around $40 a year using Godaddy or similar) That way you own the domain, hosting and have full control.

Wordpress is a solid tool that I would recommend. Starting up it's much much cheaper than paying for something bespoke from an external web developer. If you don't have any/much code knowledge, then Wordpress is perfect really - most templates are flexible and pretty easy to get your head around.
