Default I would like to say hello.

I’d like to start by saying hello! My name is Tyler. I find this industry very interesting, and I’m extremely passionate about beginning my venture into casino affiliate marketing.
My first post here isn’t about asking a dozen questions on the easiest way to make passive income in this industry. Rather, I want to know the best course of action to get started when i have money ready to invest.
I already have a few GEOs in mind that I’d like to target. However, my biggest challenge right now is acquiring affiliate links for my first website. From my understanding, it’s difficult to get an affiliate manager to work with you when you don’t have an existing website to showcase your traffic potential.
How can I go about getting my first affiliate link?

Hello and Welcome to the GPWA

Although you may also get some recommendations here in this thread, have a look through some of the questions in the Freshman Forum as well as the Chatter Box as this has been asked various times times in many ways.

Check with some of our GPWA Sponsors, those that work in the markets you want to target. At times some of them might have automatic approval, or possibly approval with a few emails.

If you have an idea about geo's you likely have some idea of how you want to structure the site or content a bit.

If you are using wordpress or some other cms you can start adding some links using a plugin for the links and can add the links in the backend once you get them. Obviously you do not want to go too brand heavy on this in case a brand declines you at the beginning.

It might help if you mention a few of the geo's you will target, as more folks might be able to make more specific recommendations with that.

I think you can start with narrowing (or at least stating) your target market(s).

Let's assume US, give that appears to be where you are. And assume casino cos that's what you said (as opposed to sports betting)

    Regulated or unregulated?
    Sweepstakes or real real money?
    Crypto or FIAT?
    x or y?

Investment? How much ballpark? If you're thinking of investing in a working, ready-made site, this might need to be substantial. And then you have ongoing costs (hosting, content, links, possibly some help if you're lacking in development/technical skills etc). The costs get higher the more competitive the target and the desired speed you're seeking.

What's the longevity potential of your target? What are the risks that you could build something that could be negatively impacted by factors outside your control?

    These are all fundamental considerations.

For most of them, at this stage, it's irrelevant whether you have affiliate agreements at the outset. Or even for the near to mid future - because your chances of gaining eyeballs is slim to zero in the short to reasonably mid-term timeframe (depending ofc on how you intend to get those eyeballs and how much you are prepared to spend to get your foundation website). So, you just need to know the earning potential is there for use at some point when you really need it.

Bottom line...if you are considering the website/search engine/AI 'answers' route...you have a challenge on your hands. Don't underestimate the scale of it. But if that is the route, then just getting started with your site is your first step (once you have considered points above and decided on your target).

Getting started is a subject in its own right and would need a lengthy post. If you don't have prior background in creating websites, I would suggest you (try to) seek someone out that might advise/mentor you. Though you will likely get written pointers by posting. There are many many pitfalls/nuances (many have been covered before on posts here)

    Hi Tyler,

    Welcome and good luck!

I personally don't think it is difficult to get affiliate managers to work with you in most cases. However, if you have no website at all - then I suppose it might be.

If you don't yet have a website at all - then probably no point in even signing up with affiliate programs.
You can start with just setting up a home page with some placeholders for brands or just link directly to the websites of those brands. If you have that almost anyone would sign you up to their affiliate program.

    Hi Tyler,

    Welcome to GPWA!

I'd like to suggest, you first build up your website & traffic. Then reach out to affiliate managers.

    Hi Tyler, welcome to GPWA!

First of all, I think you should let go of two ideas: the concept of passive income (though I'm not sure if you were serious about that) and waiting until you have money to invest before getting started. If I were in your shoes, I'd pick the GEOs I want to target, start building the website with whatever resources I have available, and simultaneously reach out to affiliate managers while creating content.

Here you will find plenty of people eager to help, and also program representatives. However, I can't stress enough the importance of having something to show or, at least, a clear roadmap.

You've come to the right place!

Use the freshman forum, and the search function to find answers to questions you might have! This forum has tooons of information!

And as some other people mention, the barrier of entry isn't actually that high - get started and learn by doing!

When i got started, i also envisioned this becoming a passive source of income. Even though a lot of my own work is outsourced by now, it's still very far from being passive Always things to tend to.
