Wordpress question for you... is there a way to output what's before and after the <!--more--> quicktag separately in a wordpress post?

Long story short I want to inject a table at that point that's automatically generated by the post without having to create additional shortcodes.

Eg:

Intro
--Auto Table
Rest of post

I'm aware I could create a separate custom field for the intro but thought this may save a step if it's possible. Couldn't see anything in the wordpres codex about it though.
