Default To Affiliate Managers: Choosing a banner and size?!?!

There still are some affiliate programs, especially some big players, that upon choosing a banner, it's a "Hit and Miss" lottery.

First you choose a banner type, then, you have to choose a size. If they don't have the size, well, try, try again, and keep on trying until you get lucky and something comes up.

Because if you're site isn't in English (where most banners are found), you may end up spending a lot of precious time searching for the banner size you require.

One site has 21!! different sizes, so I have to first choose the game (poker, casino, sports), then language, the banner type, then banner size. If I put this in a math formula, that's probably over a hundred something outcomes on a trial and error basis.

You know what's worse, is that off the top of my head, there are 2 major affiliate programs like this.

Is it me, or have others experienced this as well?

    You're right!
I work with Italian material and I waste lot of time looking for banners.
It will be nice to speed up the process of getting creatives and linking codes, but it seems someone is going in the opposite way..

Since the title of the thread notes "To Affiliate Managers" I wanted to point out that this thread is currently in the private section, which affiliate managers don't have access to. If it was meant to be posted in the public section I am happy to move it if everyone who has posted in the thread agrees to it being moved.

We divide our banners up by size, so if you click on a banner size, there will be banners in that size listed there.

And how can so many programs not have a 250x250 banner option. Most have these, but really annoying that some don't. Hard to keep a site looking consistent without the right materials.

    Hi Guys

    Let me make a suggestion:

Pleaes list the banners sizes that you most regularly use and i can assure you of one thing at least one affioliate program will take that into consideration.

I have the Income Access as my back office and correct me if i am wrong but i think that is super user freindly when looking for banner?

Would love to hear your feedback.

    Thanks

    Shaun

The most common sizes that I use are:

    120x60
    120x240
    120x400
    120x600
    125x125
    468x60
    234x60

    Occassionally 250x250

I also often need a few other sizes in the 120x range, but I can usually come up with those by chopping up a 120x600 and in fact I have often made my 120x400's that way....

For those operators, when you order a series of banners it is so much easier for the designer to make a bunch of different sizes and different background colors etc all at onece.

This allows them to paste much of the artwork or logos on transparent backgrounds into the creatives at once, or just change the background layer while they are creating the creatives.

You'll find that if you are using Rewards Affiliates and looking for banners, you can simply enter the numbers in the height and width that you're looking for and it will bring up banners in that size for the options you have selected.

I'm sure any affiliate who has used it will agree that it is very easy to use.

If you have any questions or need help, please let me know.

    Cheers

I agree 100% that Casino Rewards offers some great tools and help in finding creatives.

To your favor throughout the years when new creatives were designed, Rewards just kept adding to their ever growing list of available creatives. This allows affiliates access to all creatives that have been available for years!

Often many programs will remove creatives from offerings as they go through their creative refresh stages each year.

Operators please remember, if one of your casinos' creatives are mostly blue or dark colors, your creatives often might not get picked for spots on pages because at times webmasters may choose certain creatives for either their game content, bonus content, color, size or any nouber of other factors.

Thus with this in mind, it becomes very obvious that the more choices given and the easiest ways to view and choose from creatives available, the higher the chance YOUR AFFILITE PROGRAMS banners and creatives will be chosen for our sites.

Disclaimer: Obviously there are other factors involved in the choices such as trust levels of the programs and the depth and accuracy of their stats, etc..etc.. but if those are all met with the affiliate site in question, don't you want YOUR PROGRAM among the top choices?

    Cool banner sizes

very popular banner sizes (not only in the online gaming market) are:

    Leaderboard (728x90)
    Banner (468x60)

actually I am now considering development of a free of charge banner related tool that will allow people to create a custom banner for their web sites

the tool will generate a banner that displays text and other effects according to what the user configured and produce HTML code for the users to easily cut and paste into their web sites

what you think of a tool like this? would you need to you use it?
maybe there are other suggestions that people can give me so I can include more needed features in this tool?

    thanks
