Main Influences for PA and DA

I noticed my Domain Authority and Page Authority slipped a few numbers since the last time I checked it. What are the main influences that affect PA and DA. Is it mainly just links? ie. how many, quality, different linking domains and C blocks or are their other main contributing factors that can influence the number?

The only thing I can think of that I did to the site was I added rel="nofollow" to all of my outbound affiliate links. Thinking about that, I would think it should help rank but I guess it could hurt trust because you are saying basically you do not trust these links so do not follow them. Hmmn, I wonder if that made the difference.

What do you guys think?

I am trying to figure this out myself because the majority of the sites went down. One thing i can think of is too many inner links and not enough good external links.
