100,000 unique hits or visitors? If 100,000 unique visitors from search engine it may take you 1 year or 2 or 3 and so on. It depends on which keywords you chose and how your site in SEO.

It varies for everyone. Depends how good you are at SEO and how well your site ranks. If you're talking about 100,000 uniques for the Casino industry... may take you some time as there is a LOT of competition. Other areas may not be so tough. I've created sites where I've gotten 100,000 uniques in a year and others where I'm tracking 3 years to get that many. So, depends on the market.

You'd assume that depends on the website; content, amount of pages, amount of pages indexed by the searchengine, originality of the content, loading speed, backlinks of other websites, pagerank & basicly all other things searchengines monitor when they rank you.

Let's assume you are fortunate enough 50% of your traffic comes from SE (you 'buy' the other 50% using banners/textlinks/etc). If you have 1000 visitors a day, that would make 500 people from SE: 100.000/500 = 200 days.

What you should always do is make sure you can track where your visitors come from, and if possible use tracking links in the advertising you do so you can track which campaign is most valuable.

Do note that not all 100.000 clicks from Google/Yahoo!/MSN are valuable clicks, there could be quite generic words they used to find you in their search (and after their initial click they instantly click back/out).
